Who knows, Mickey. Your nose might be just fine as this is all very subjective. If you don't like a scent, then you don't like it and that is that. No need for anyone to try to convince you, otherwise.

People perceive scent differently - I certainly wouldn't say that. For instance, when I tried Mystic Water Limes, many seem to find it to be an accurate representation of the fruit, but I found it to be much closer to lemon or related citruses. Is it my nose that is faulty? Theirs? There are alternative explanations.

Perhaps we are smelling different varieties of limes and lilacs which have varied scents, or maybe we have different experiences with these natural products. Generally I don't find soliflores to be accurate to the original, as in nature flowers are accompanied by scents in their surrounding. A rose for example will never smell just like rose if you are smelling it on the bush. You will smell the sweet fragrance of rose, but you should also smell the crunchy greenness of the stalk and leaves, and perhaps even the damp earth or surrounding grass. This is why in the perfume world many rose fragrances are accompanied by a patchouli note or other accords that smell like damp earth and green leaves.

In the end, all of these experiences are subjective and unique, so I wouldn't entertain the hypothesis that your nose is the culprit.

According to a 2013 research study, partially funded by the National Institutes of Health, 30% of the olfactory receptors are different between individuals. So what smells like a Rose to one can smell like sewage to another.

I have two pucks of the original, which I enjoy, but tends to be a little fussy for me to lather. New formula is supposed to lather more easily, but am I giving anything up in regards to lather quality or post shave feel with the new formula?

Michelle (Mystic Water) has only added a chelator in the new formula to help with lathering in hard water.

I have both the old formula and the new formula shaving soaps and I don't find that there is any loss in performance or post shave feel in the new formula.

There isn't much of a change with anything except a quicker and easier time lathering the soap. It still exhibits the same great properties.

I have 15 of Michelle's scents in my current rotation, but I am trying, very hard, to reduce that number to a more manageable one, such as 10. I don't enjoy having to wait for over two weeks to use scents I love!

I haven't focused on how long a puck will last in over 5 years as I just have much too many, now, but I believe it is approximately between 40-60 shaves depending on how heavy I load. Nonetheless, for the past 4 years, I have been using shave-sticks, exclusively, so I use up much more soap, now, which is extremely helpful in depleting my large collection.

Do you mean how many different brands of soaps that I have used? = The vast majority.
If you mean how many pucks of Mystic Water that I have gone through, then I lost count quite a few years ago.

My favourite scents are:
Bay Rum
Vetiver & Oakmoss
Bergamot/Cedarwood/Juniper
Egyptian Dragon
Cedar/Sage
Poggio dei Pini
Marrakesh
Sandalwood Rose
Sardinian Honey
Jasmine
Brown Windsor
Irish Traveller
Vanilla Sandalwood

There are others that I like very much, but these seem to be my favourites, for now.
I would probably have to say that the Bay Rum might be my favourite scent in all of the soaps that I have ever tried.
I don't know what it is about this scent, but it is just divine when I shave with it and I always, always get great lathers and shaves, specifically, when I use it.
