mild & highly efficient razors

According to blade gap measurement the Feather Popular is more aggressive than their high $$ metal ones. I have one and think it's great. I also think any Tech version is great. However, the real winner is the Schick Krona. Just a tad more aggressive than the Tech for me, but it nestles perfectly into the facial 'G-Spot'. It was IMO the best mass produced modern DE razor, bar none.

If you put a feather blade in the feather popular it shaves wonderfully. I've tried many other blades in it and am convinced it was designed to work best with its own blade. Feather+Feather=one DFS.

I've had and sold a few schick kronas, but I've never used any of them. does anyone know what the blade gap is on them?

the feather as-d2 seems to be one of the best razors I ever shaved with.  what else out there rivals it in both its mildness and efficiency?

I would like to know about these razors. The first one says 'feather' on it.

The second one says 'feather' on the inside. This is the one that I have.

Am I the only person who has one of these?

I have two of those exact razors - its an AS-D2. I'm using one and the second one is new in box that I'm planning to give to my son for his next birthday. Its a wonderful razor.

GEM Clog Pruf if your thing is SE and the Merkur Progress if you prefer DE. Both exceptionally smooth without sacrificing efficiency. There's just something about that Progress head that makes it incredibly comfortable while plowing through whiskers. Being adjustable also helps in finding that sweet spot. Part of my fascination with the new Timeless Razor is how similar the head is to the Progress.

The razor I'm looking at looks the same. The bottom of the handle is the same.

And it says 'feather' on each of the two top pieces. It shaves just fine.

If you're just into mild/efficient and don't equate that with expensive then a Schick Krona is a very nice razor. Be warned, though, it isn't expensive and doesn't have the cache/bragging rights that more expensive razors have. It also doesn't have the heft that others have, as it's very light.

You're spot on of course. However, a good pickup truck is handier & far more practical than a Ferrari.

I have no issues with cheap razors. in fact, I'm pretty sure every single razor in my shaving drawer except 2 cost less than $25.
