If the Maggard Knot is similar to the Stirling would that be okay or are you looking for something different?

Could you compare those bakerbarber as I thought you had they Stirling Knot(s) as well?

Maggard is much stiffer than Stirling. Thicker hairs.

Whether it's backbone or scrub, I like it. If you want soft then it's not like a silvertip brush. It's soft at the tips but I felt a little hint of the hairs.

I expect it to loosen up and soften up with use. While it's not a direct cousin, I'd say it's in the same family as Envy White. A little bit less stiff and not as much black banding to the appearance.

I would imagine Maggard's 2 band knots are nice but I haven't tried one. Personally I'd rather try Whipped Dog's High Mountain Badger 2 band first. I have the Silvertip from Whipped Dog and it's easily my favorite badger, even over the Thater I used to own.

Well, I checked out Larry's knots and found something I want to try. My Rubberset handle is white. It's really clean and doesn't need much to bring up the lustre it once enjoyed. I'm going to paint the letters with a fineline brush and gloss black paint, and I think it will look fantastic with a black pure badger knot. I realize pure badger is not as soft as silvertip or 2-band, but my hope is that it will still perform, while looking killer with a black bristle brush in a nice white handle. And at only $16 shipped for a 24mm knot, I am not losing out on much if I absolutely hate it....

My first brush was a pure badger and it worked fine. It will have more scritch of course.

Just set the knot with a small dab of silicone at first and if you don't like it, you can pull it right out.

I just got the 26mm maggard badger knot yesterday. It's full, nice quality, and the price and shipping time are good. I would recommend it. Not a shedder, and doesn't have that serious badger funk. I will buy more for future restore projects.

I think it's pretty similar to the Maseto.

Here is a bloom shot and comparison of my 26mm maggard finest knot. There is a good size glue bump, but this thing is stuffed and full. No doubts this one is a keeper and way better than waiting weeks versus China shipping.
