Tobacco pops out off the jar, but rose and leather start to come in. Yet it all comes together in a relatively clean and refined manner. The splash feels like it leans more into the woods or oak moss. All very early reactions with just one session, but I could see this in a heavier rotation for the upcoming months.
Cool, that's been on my radar for awhile but never have pulled the trigger yet.
I was in the same situation. I have recently started tiptoeing back into tobacco centric scents. It has always been a bit challenging to find ones that work given the breadth of tobacco interpretations. What I enjoyed about American Vintage is a tobacco scent that feels lighter and more refined in the backdrop of all the other notes. In contrast, MacDuff's Tobacco Trail translates as a more robust and deeper tobacco scent, although not overpowering. That's one I am also just beginning to use as well, so early thoughts that should be taken with a grain of salt.
