Old Strathcona (gloriousness)

If you use Old Strathcona, and you like to pair with (or at least flow from/be inspired by) a soap's scent, what fragrances do you like here?

Many things could work, I would think, (including, imo, the Cartier and Lomani shown) as well as spicy, sweet, woods.

If Old Strathcona were translated into an EDT or parfum, the money for it would not need to be pried from my greedy hands.

Old Strathcona is possibly my favorite scent from MacDuffs. I haven't quite found an optimal fit for fragrance match with my limited collection, but plan to explore more out of my decants as we move into the fall.

Good to know. Not a very popular scent but people who love it, love it. When I finally get to my EdP's i'll be releasing that one for sure!

Powerful recommendations. Must try

A well enjoyed jar of Sea to Sky has been completed. I have a backup jar but will probably save it for next spring and summer.

Do you mind if I post that to IG? And I will be bringing that back sometime in 2025 but likely with updated name/label. I just bought 5 pounds of the main scent ingredient I didn't have!

Crowsnest Pass has a strong and sweet citrus opening of Sicilian lemon and Calabrian bergamot that’s given some interest with just enough bay leaf spice. This sweetness is tempered with a good dose of tobacco that’s blended with hints leather, musk and Virginian cedar. Like our “Old Strathcona” scent, the scent is supported by a magnificent blend of oak, cedar and pine moss absolutes.

You had me at Old Strathcona, tobacco, and moss.  To manage expectations, though, is Crowsnest Pass really more of a citrus aromatic (or even bay rum) rather than a dark, mossy, spicy, woody tobacco?  (Old Tobaccona would likely blow my skirt up.)

It's closer to bay rum, but a bay rum fan would murder me for saying so. It's very citrusy thanks to the bergamot but also spicy from the bay leaf. There's a touch of leather in there as well and then sweetened with tobacco. For what it's worth, it's probably my most popular scent with women, despite the masculine sounding scent notes. It's a crowd pleaser for sure!

I just picked up an Autumn Cabin soap secondhand and used it today. Wow, I love this. An EdP would be amazing! *hint hint*
