Thank you guys! I'm running two bases at the moment. I have labels left for V4 and will use those up until depleted. V5 is for new releases going forward, but the actual base is very similar (all the oils/butters are the same) but I've simplified the additives and the superfats a bit. I also switched to new side labels (the black ones with the topographic lines). The base version will be displayed there, by the ingredients. If there is NO base version listed, it's V4. If it's in an amber tub, it's V3. Hope that helps!

Sean, how does it lather?

I've seen a lot of issues with more of the "super fat" soaps and adding more can make it challenging to lather with a badger (I'm not a synthetic know user).

Any feedback would be great and if you can point me towards V5 soaps I'll buy one and try it.

Thanks,

Mike

Hey Mike. It lathers the same as my other soaps as the percentage of superfats have stayed the same. That said my soaps have always had a high superfat so if you haven't had an issue before, you won't with V5!

As for suggestions, I just released Market Days which has been popular, or Alberta Boys though that's still in the V4 base!

I have a Market Days lost from Pasteurs in transit for a while.  Once it gets here I’ll post up.

Will the whole line be with the V5 formula?
I tried Market Days truly a fairy tale...purchased in Europe from Anticatura
I've been using Macduffs soaps for years

Going to compare V4 and V5 bases soon.  I have enough V4 here to make a good assumption but want to get my next few shaves in with V5 to give some thoughts.  It is arriving today but next shave will be Friday... so hopefully by Sunday I can write something that makes sense from experience with both.

That is the plan, but as mentioned I'm using up older V4 labels first. Being that the bases are so similar I don't think it's an issue.

Awesome! Keep in mind that the V4 will likely have had a much longer cure time than my newer releases, and will likely be firmer. But at this point I think it's very well known how soft my soaps are!
