Looking for your help...

Hey Guys I hope Xmas and New year treated you right and your ready for a new year of shaving greatness and I hoping you can help me start mine off.

I have been very fortunate that I have been able to try a great deal of Shaving Soaps from all over. I pride myself in being able to answer many questions from people here and other forums in regards to soaps, particularly those from artisans. However there is also a great deal I have not tried and I am now abit more limited to how much I can buy as buying a house is imminent. For this reason I have come up with a simple way to enjoy a range of new soaps, afford it and still enjoy this hobby and be able to answer your questions.

I am going to limit myself to one new artisan per month, for the remaining months of 2016. I can buy a maximum of two soaps from that artisan. So far this is how it is going to work:

February - Shaver Heaven
March - Shannon's
April - Tim's
May - Jabonman
June - Country Club
July - Lebelle
August - Beaver Woodwright
September - Sapone Di Paolo
October - TBD
November - TBD
December - TBD

I know what your thinking, that is a lot of soaps. Well for me this is control!

I am surprised I have not got round to trying some of these artisans. I am looking for your opinion on any I may have missed or soap suggestions for those I have mentioned. I tend to enjoy sweet or citrus based scents.

I know your not going to know what I have tried but there is to many to list them but here is a few of the obvious ones that may come up:
CRSW, MLSW, B&M, Reef Point, Dr Jons, CB, Deluxe, Dapper Dragon, Haslinger, SV, SC, Maggards, TTF, Strop Shoppe and more.

Nice roadmap Oli! I will give it some more thought but some that jump out to me are:

WSP soaps. Lee puts out a solid product with some interesting scents.

Soap Smooth, Wholly Kaw and Chiseled Face others for consideration.

I'd be interested to hear a non-biased review of Meissner product(s) too. Very passionate users.

So many soaps, so little time. Congrats on the house too.

If you don't have any yet, you should definitely get Bufflehead.

Try some Mama Bear's! One of the first soaps I owned and I still enjoy them even if I don't use them as often any more. Dragon's Blood and Vanilla Sandalwood are my two choices

Kevin, thanks, I have tried Soap Smooth and Chiseled Face but Wholly Kaw and WSP is a good shout.

Eric, Bufflehead is also a good suggestion.

They will take up my remaining three spots for the time being.

Shawn, I have tried Mama Bears, thank you though.

I can vouch for Tim's but I like the original line's lather better. I thought the Green Label was as good but lately I noticed it is a little more difficult to lather.

Have you tried Tabula Rasa yet? If not you may want to add if to your list. It's an excellent soft soap with a very fluffy texture. I've never seen anything like it actually but it is very good and provided a great post shave.

I have not tried Miessner but for some reason I do not really want to. I have read reviews gal or on this soap and some people scream and shout and then there are a few that say it's terrible. I think there is something I just find unattractive about it.

For some reason I am in the same boat...

I trust you and your reviews, we seem to share similar taste but even if you found it positive for some reason I am not that enthused with trying them.

Of the others in your hit list I am very interested in your thoughts as there are many I have not tried yet. But will

Hobbyist, thanks for your feedback I will take that into consideration when grabbing some Tims soaps. I have tried Tabula Rasa and like it but not a favourite unfortunately.

I would say that my favourites so far tend to be soaps that rarely get a bad review.

if you havent tried Tabula Rasa it might be a good one to put on the list, Its different from any soap or cream i have used. Country Club I'd recommend yacht club or grapefruit.
