Here’s Karve in June 2020, it’s simple:

1. Polished razors from Black Friday 2019 still not delivered. Payment taken at time of order. $100 vouchers and free shipping given to those waiting

2. New method of ordering similar to Wolfman established for Titanium and aluminum.

3. Wait times still long for ALL metals for most people. Likely to do low staff (only Chris?) and process to finish razors.

— Some good, some bad, but moving in the right direction.

Yet again I ask on this thread what people find comical. If Chris hasn’t made a razor or not is his business. Karve has listened and not taken a dime, you’ll pay for your razor when it’s ready and rather than pay upfront. The company says Karve machining on the outside not Karve razors so if he did some industrial work instead of razors what’s the difference. I feel there are people in this community that want to encourage positive interaction and others that just crave negativity. As I always say it’s just shaving, I’ve spent decades traveling around the world to war zones, trust me when I say worry about things that matter

Correct. He is doing right, his company seems to be moving in the right direction. No money taken from anyone and I don't believe that anyone that joined the waitlist realistically expected a razor by now. I am happy that I joined the waitlist for the Karve. I went with a 4 inch handle, regular cap, and c,d,e plate.

I’m going to say this about the Karve Razor. As I’ve stated before deep in this thread, I own 2 of their brass razors with multiple plates ranging in size from C-F in both SB/OC configurations. I have never, ever bad mouthed the performance of the Brass rendering. In fact, I believe they are one of the best values in artisan manufactured razors with performance that matches if not exceeds the elite razors in the industry. Until a short while ago, I even gave them the benefit of doubt and suggested in this very thread that they just needed a chance to straighten their act out and get their s**t together. Eventually, I believed that they would have come through it all fine because I believed in their product just solely based on performance/value. Needless to say, they still haven’t got their act together as a manufacturer or business.

There are those that will back them and defend them to no end because they enjoy their products just as much as anyone else, myself included. However, when will people see that Karve/Christopher Bradley has to do a complete revamping on operations, manufacturing and just running the business in an economical & straightforward way?

Just to prove my point. Here’s another instance of just “what the hell are they doing?” Making a mistake one right after the other. The errors are basically automatic at this point. It feels as if there isn’t a blunder every other week or so, we’d be missing something. I mean seriously, it’s like I’m watching an episode or an entire season of the famed American western tv series “F-Troop”. All you need over at Karve is Corporal Agar to make it work.

I’ve included a link and a cut & paste version for those that don’t have access to Instagram’s site. This is just amazing on how things get so array in the Karve shop/business. Even the small simple things are monumental projects/endeavors. In this instance, it’s about improper lighting. Light bulbs people! Ok, he didn’t know the differences but, as a machinist and taking on the task of polishing your own products a bit of research or due diligence on his end would have solved this issue before it even started. Ok, he admitted his mistake, that’s fine for the Karve apologists. What’s next? The dog urinated on his carbide tipped, mercury coated mills and rendered them useless in providing roughing and finishing work? I really do get a chuckle out of this. 

Some will not be happy with me. Oh well, you can’t please everyone....

Most of them are out and received by their owners, with warm feedback, but there are still a few left in the shop.
I made a huge push back in April to get the polishing finished only to discover fine scratches when I started to pack them a couple of days later. I've struggled with scratches before and adjusted my process, but these were different and much finer. The parts looked good in the shop, but the natural light in my shipping area brought out the scratches. I’ve since learned that professional polishers use incandescent lamps because fluorescent lamps will hide flaws.

The top cap here is the one that I reworked today. The upper image is before rework and the lower image is after rework (the fine scratches run up and down in the upper image). This top cap completes a razor, which will be shipped on Monday. I'm putting in sessions every day or two to get through the remainder.

Huge push back in April while he was releasing some Aluminum razors?? Huge push back for something that was in stock and ready to ship in November!! Still not finished sending them out and its almost the middle of June and only "1" polished razor in the wild to date other than the 1 that his employee teases everyone with on YouTube!! Titanium and Aluminum was supposed to ship May 1st, then 2 weeks later came the waitlist, then came the survey to find out what it was you wanted a month later!! At least he listened to the feedback and didn't charge anyone for a razor this time around!! Comical...you can't make shit like this up even if you wanted to...

They certainly should’ve been honest in the first place. However, I believe Karve is currently going through a period of transition.

The last couple posts on their Instagram Have been fairly straightforward and the point. It seems they are trying to be more transparent. I also have not seen any posts involving Jack, and I wonder if that relationship has been ended.

I’m not trying to justify their behavior in the past; in fact I was one of the first in this thread to demand a refund on the original stainless release. But there are indicators things are changing.

But the real question is: is the razor even relevant anymore? There may be better shavers at similar price points.

I think at this point you're much better off either buying a used Karve on one of the BST forums or buying a new one from a retailer (if there are still any that aren't sold out yet). My last interaction with Karve left me annoyed at them and I probably will not do business with them again.

Amazing product but buyer beware. If you read these warnings and buy and still feel burnt really the fault is yours.

I get the impression he is learning from his previous mistakes. The google forms he just sent out for clarification to those who pre-ordered Ti is an example, as is the fact that unlike the polished SS razors, the Ti wait list is not prepaid.

I get the impression he was a walk in job machine shop, and wasn't really savvy about how mail order razors work. He is learning. I think maybe he'll get his ducks in a row eventually.

It's not just that though Jimmy. When a customer asks if you have an item in stock and if you can deliver it by ___ time, and you say yes, you should have the decency to keep your word. Not delay shipment until 3 days before the agreed upon delivery date resulting in the item being delivered a week later. The reason I bring this up is I would not have bought the items if they had told me it wasn't possible. They reassured me they had them, and it would be delivered on time (even said it would be delivered well before then). They made a shipping label 1 week after I put in the order, and sat on that without shipping the item for 2 weeks. Meanwhile my buddy's birthday came and went. It's shitty customer service.

What he has going for him is that folks have very short memories. When he first released his SS razor, he utilized a wait list then that was not prepaid either....same as he’s doing with Ti. It was still a shit show, though. People were waiting and waiting for months and months, the wait list wasn’t moving, and then he suddenly started selling SS razors to retailers, which allowed people to scoop up an in-stock SS Karve from an online shaving shop ahead of all the Karve customers who had been patiently waiting in line on the wait list for months on end, to no avail. The kind of slap in the face that only Chris Kirchen knows how to deliver. No, nothing has changed. At least not yet. But it’s nice for him that some people think so.
