I figure this is cash flow. I don’t know how many Titanium’s he has, but they’ll sell out. Titanium is not on the website as yet. The good move will be to cut orders at the moment his number of razors sell out. This should be very interesting actually. If he continues to take orders after the Titanium is sold out, then the jig is up.

I'm going for one of the Ti razors. If he doesn't ship when he says I'll go for a quick refund. I won't 'be patient' this time.

FWIW ... I don't 'hate' the guy. He is a screw up (politely stated) He bit off more than he could chew with the polished fiasco.

IMHO ... He saw James Dufour's polished razors and thought he'd do the same.

Old saying ... Luck is when preparation meets opportunity. He had the desire, but he didn't develop the skill beforehand.

I can think of a number of avenues he could have taken to make it right to those who had bought the polished razors ... but it is pointless to reiterate them.

I’m curious why you’ll purchase one? Which plate really works for you?

I can think of other razors that shave much better than the Karve I had about a year ago, but the plate I had was OC D. The titanium just hasn’t appealed to me. I do miss the look and feel of brass though.
A year or more ago a fellow in Canada sold a brass Karve set to me through the BST. It came with the two handles (one longer) and an E & F SB plate. I ordered an F OC, and a G SB direct.

I liked the way they shaved very much. I like the design. So ... I ordered a polished SS when they were announced and after a few months of fruitless waiting changed the order to standard stainless with the same plates as I have in the brass included.

I tend to collect stuff. One of those collectors who likes variations on the same theme. So I want the Ti. No desire for the aluminum, and if I want a polished Karve SS I'll do it myself !  Cool

I mean no offense with this comment, but imo, if and when your titanium razors are not shipped, at what point is it also the responsibility of the buyer, who knows full well the history of Karve?

With the polished stainless steel, I honestly wanted one and almost pulled the trigger, but i didn’t trust that Karve would deliver in a timely manner so I sat back and waited to see what would happen (if all went well, I’d order one)... When we discovered what the reality was, I was initially relieved because I went with my logical thought process/decision making (avoiding purchase given Karve’s history) instead of going with my impulsive side (as I’m sometimes known to do lol)... Yet, I became upset with the situation even though I wasn’t personally involved... I was pretty angry to see a company continue to be dishonest and take advantage of their customers. But I must confess, if and when these titanium razors are not shipped in a timely manor, I just imagine myself perhaps laughing out loud because at this point, knowing what we know and yet still trusting and ordering from Karve, well, I guess it’s just pretty comical to me. With that said, I hope you guys get your razors, seriously I do. But they won’t be getting my money that’s for sure.

Also, I don't follow shave guys on Youtube for various reasons, but I happened across a new vid from the Virtual Groomsman, who I believe is connected to Karve. Anyway, his latest shave video features a polished SS Karve. I find it ******* gross that paying customers don't get theirs, but he's flaunting the shiny new toy. YMMV, but man, I find it in very poor taste to say the least.

Jack was brought on to help with communications. I think he has been more of a promoter than doing anything remotely customer service related.

I have to agree with you, very poor taste. Had I not changed my order to standard SS after 3 months, and received a razor and partial refund, I'd really be angry seeing a polished bandied about in that video.

The fellow's channel is 'The Virtual Groomsman' BTW. Without the 'The' you'll find all sorts of vids unrelated to shaving.

So if you want to see a Karve polished SS check out the vid ... if you want to see a demonstration of shaving technique look elsewhere, the young man doesn't have any to show.

People will order the titanium model for two reasons, first, because hope springs eternal, and second, because desire does too.  Hope is always a good thing, but hope can be dwarfed by foolishness when it gets mixed with desire in the wrong way.  Time will tell which is the case here, and IMO you are right in hoping for the happy outcome.

I can understand the slap-in-the-face feeling here.  A quick youTube search pulled up eight Virtual Groomroom videos ranging from 3 months to 3 hours old, five with titles that mention the Polished SS Karve, and three that mention the Titanium.  To be fair however, the videos I saw generally also feature other, non vaporware products.

I agree.. I think it’s absolutely disrespectful to show that razor on his YouTube channel given the situation. And the worst part... He actually shows the razor and says “Using this razor... it just makes me feel bad... Because of how beautiful it is”. Haha he actually says that lol. I actually thought for a minute he was gonna show some semblance of responsibility by saying... “it makes me feel bad.... Because I know a lot of people have been waiting and the razors are not shipped out yet”. But nope, he just feels bad using it because of how polished and beautiful it is. I absolutely do not understand how people will support that... sorry I don’t.

Does it matter? No one is going to have an issue unless they leave 303 on a boat.

You don't know that. Meaningless to keep repeating it.

Also don't have enough info the claim it's a pure cash grab. Fair to say that priorities are not right at Karve but save the conspiracy theories.
