Wondering if the E plate would be advisable as well but not sure... I usually do a two pass shave on 3.5 days of growth. I’ve had great luck with .67/.74 WR1’s as well as 1.05/1.15 WR2’s. For those that have experience is there a big jump from D to E plates? ThanksI have not used the C plate, but the D is pretty mild. I shave every day and I have both F plates. The SB is good for daily shaving and the OC is better for skipping a day, but it can be used daily. To give my answer some context, I have sensitive skin and I only do 2 WTG passes. I also get good results with Charcoal Goods level 2, Blackbird SB, Carbon, Timeless 95, and Wolfman 61 OC. With the exception of the Blackbird, the Karve F plates are a little more efficient than what I listed. It’s not overly aggressive though.

Forum discussions about razors is very subjective. Its all personal at the end of the day. The stainless G plate is as efficient and smooth as anything I have tried including all variations of the Game Changer. The new Tatara Nodachi is as efficient but lacks Karve’s smoothness. Waiting on the Carbon Shaving to arrive to compare. Karve is the favorite...at the moment.

I am now using the G plate SB in stainless and the E plate OC in stainless and brass. Both are extremely smooth but stepping up to the F plate in OC really bit me badly.

I'm probably more concerned about upkeep for a brass razor Some people like the patina, which I don't, while others say that it easy enough to clean with a toothbrush and toothpaste. Any comments on this?I feel similar to you many people do like patina and I don't that's why I prefer stainless steel because it doesn't have to be maintained and polished all the time. It's that's what's wonderful about all the options we have there is something for everybody and that's why I sold my Karve brass razor and I'm keeping my stainless steel

The patina upkeep and water spots was an issue but I also began to notice the brass smell with both my Karve’s particularly with certain soaps. The new stainless eliminates those issues altogether. I am three shaves down with the Carbon Shaving CX which is wonderful. The new Tatara Nodachi has been great but a bit aggressive. Only other in the den is the original 17-4 to round out the foursome.
Out of all four, far more expensive razors, the Karve is equally satisfying, or more so.
