"There could be an error on the address on the package, or the package is lost in a postal facility somewhere and needs to be found the next time they do a cleaning (I have a sister that works in Canada Post and she mentioned that this can happen), or the postman attempted delivery and for some reason returned it back to the sender (me).

We have had that happen where a package will make it all the way to the destination and then be returned to me. Unfortunately, the overall trip time can be pretty long, like 3 to 4 months, because it is returned to me via surface mail.

I have a feeling that your package is on the way back to me, simply because of how long it has been since it was shipped. So, in the meantime, I can dispatch a new package, but I need you to confirm your address."

But it's just one of many! For me it looks like snide response...

That sucks. I would agree communication is their weak link.

In their defense I see no snide remark there personally

Cancel the order. Buy a Blackbird. That’s what I did with the awful stainless release. The shaves have been levels above what my brass Karve (OC b, OC D) was capable of.

And as a Canadian I wanted to support Karve, but poor communication is a killer. Especially when you claim to be making changes to improve it but don’t. And my money is taken with no details for month as to where the order is.

I bought a Karve SB E&F plates, top cap, and 2 handles from a friend in Canada. Tried them out the past couple of days. The E plate was good but I was eagerly anticipating the F. Well it was a horse of another color to say the least. I'm 70 years old, and following my clueless shaving from 1963 (roughly) to 2007, when I was introduced to the forums, and correct shave technique, I have become very expert ... if I do say so myself .. in shaving with DEs .. straights .. SEs.

So I loaded a Feather into the F plate and took off as usual. A careless moment and I nicked my lower lip. Not that big a thing, but I had new respect for the F plate and finished the shave carefully. I have to take both these out and work with them some more before I come to a conclusion. I got BBS in my usual WTG/ATG with both gaps, but the F was the winner in terms of efficiency. Both were irritation free, other than the pilot error, and the slight nick on the lip.

What I don't care for is the weight of the handles. I received two Karve handles, both 90mm/3 1/2". They are heavy @ 2.6oz. Combined with the weight of the head uncomfortably so. I am going to drill one of the two out from the butt end and lighten it up. See how that goes. I like the pattern on them for the grip it provides. A high quality product, and an interesting one with all of the gaps available.

While being an amateur machinist ,I'm not that fond of the AISI 303 stainless steel ,
which BTW is the free-machining version of the AISI 304 stainless steel ( go figure ... ) .
All my stainless steel razors are either made of AISI 304 alloy ( Timeless ) or AISI 316L ( Razorock ) .

But brass has a special place in my den (and in my heart also ) .
Maybe it's the self-disinfecting properties of brass .
Maybe it's the formation of patina .
It can be that "warmth"  ( due to it's high thermal conductivity ) that brass has when it contacts against the skin.
I'm not really sure .
What I know for sure ,is that while I do like my stainless steel razors ,
they feel like cold surgical instruments when shaving with them, while brass is a total different chapter...
It is way more "friendly" .
Like it possesses an invisible "halo" of some sort .Can't really explain it .

Here is my two Karves ,with their new custom handles that I've made myself.
Brass patina porn ...

Wow ! Stephanos 1920 ... beautiful work !! I too like brass razors.

So my first shave with the F plate yesterday left a bit of my DNA on the razor/blade. Today I took a brand new Feather and had a really great shave with the F plate. No blood spilled this time.

But first I chucked a bit into my drill press and hollowed out one of the two Karve handles I'd gotten in the deal. I felt the razor was much more maneuverable with the weight taken off of the handle. Not that much, down to 2.2 oz from 2.6 oz.

What can I say, the razor shaved great, any thoughts that I had made a mistake in acquiring the set are gone. It's a keeper !

What’s been the more recent stainless shipping time? I paid up on Sept 27th but the order is still unfulfilled. I’m eager to try this razor out hopefully my plate selection was on point

I paid for two brass baseplates on Oct 3rd, received order confirmation a minute later, but no word since then. The plates were listed on the web page as 'in stock.'

So today, seeing Karve is on Facebook, this morning I messaged them inquiring about my order. No reply yet. I can understand a small operation being slow to ship, maybe producing stuff that is 'in stock' after the paid order comes in, but they ought to at least answer a query regarding the order.

I seem to recall reading others having a problem with Karve ?

EDIT ; Just got an instant message from Karve ... Hey Jimmy. My apologies on the delay. I’m working on packing a big batch of orders, yours included. I’ll be printing the shipping label first thing tomorrow and I’ll have the order to the post office by the end of the day
