I now have about 20 shaves in with the D plate and tried the E tonight I really think this is a great bang for your buck razor, I don’t believe it surpasses my Paradigm or Charcoal Goods razors, but if I wanted a razor for less than $100 there is no doubt this is the razor I would recommend

I totally agree with you I feel that this is an excellent razor but it's getting over hyped

I should have my Karve with D, E, and F plates next week and looking forward to the comparison with my 17-4, WR1’s, Timeless, and others.
Whether or not it’s better than the aforementioned isn’t really the point for me though. General consensus seems to be it’s the best bang for my $100 and of course my RAD doesn’t care and we’ll see how the Dart stacks up against it when it’s released hopefully next month!

Dart should be out second half of June and I agree with you I have the d e f plates best bang-for-the-buck but not better than the high-end razors

Definitely as good or better than many of the high end razors in my use. Paradigm 17-4, Charcoal L2, both Timeless SB gaps, Wolfman .74.

Possibly over-hyped or excitement for the product from new users. If that’s the case I’m definitely guilty of overhyping the 17-4.

I'm glad you hyped the 17-4 Smile I would have not bought one If it weren't for you! I'm resisting the Karve hype, only because it's brass. I'll give in once it's available in stainless steel.

I have mixed feelings about patina, but a somewhat-irrational aversion to coatings and plating. I like solid metal.
