Any updates on the E or F plates. Also I did read on one of the several Karve threads that prices for CB razor are poised to increase. Is this the case ?

Ok, I was wrong the first time I had the Christopher Bradley D plate. I did love the look but couldn’t get a BBS shave. I sold it. After reading all the great reviews I picked up a used one with a D plate and put a Kai blade in it. WOW, 2 pass (WTG, ATG) BBS. No nicks, cuts or irritation. So my first impression with my usual polsilver blade needs corrected. I’m on board that this is a very smooth, efficient well priced razor with a Kai blade for me.

Incidentally I am also using a polsilver in my my first run of shaves with the various base plates. Really I've put it away after about two shaves with each base plate and the polsilver and finding it pretty good with blade feel but somehow inefficient. Perhaps I need to take it back out and look at more blades and angles.

Since I received the E and F plates a few weeks ago, I have probably used each plate 2-3 times and have posted my outstanding results using a Feather blade on all of the shaves. Well, I decided to put the Karve down for my last 5-6 shaves and go through the list of my top DE razors to compare the feeling I got with my Karve. These are the razors I used; Charcoal Goods L3 DC, Timeless .95 DC, Wolfman .74 DC PAA DOC Evolution, and Razorock Black Mamba. I used a variety of soaps from GD, CRSW, and WK. After all of these shaves, I still put the Karve in the top spot slightly above my Charcoal Goods razor. That one would be neck and neck if I could use a Feather with it but I have to use a PolSilver with that razor but it gives a stellar shave. Still, I can’t wait to go back to the Karve. I have really missed it to the point that I might have to buy another one just to have it as a back up. Anyway, I say all of this to once again profess my love for the Karve razor. I think at double the price, this razor would still be worth it to me. If you have not pulled the trigger on this one, I’m telling you, you are missing out no matter what plate you get!! I will post this on the 2 other threads on the other forums as well and this is just my opinion.

Interesting observations, George. I adore many of the same razors that you use (although I prefer the open comb versions): Charcoal Goods Level 3 open comb, Timeless .95 open comb, Wolfman .74 WR1 open comb and PAA DOC Evolution in stainless. (No Mamba.) Except for the Wolfman, I get a closer shave with each of these razors than I do with the Karve with a D plate (which I've had since December).

This is why I anxiously await an F plate to use in the beautiful Karve razor...

Can anyone compare the D plate to a .74 wolfman? I'm wondering if I should hold out for the F plate.

What plates would be good for someone who likes Rockwell on 3/4

Most of mine are dual plates (DC) so I use the open comb side on my first pass and closed comb side on my second pass and across the grain on my cheeks pass and I absolutely love these razors and will continue to use all of them. I just think the Karve is on another level just like many think the Paradigm 17-4 is on another level. Just my personal opinion though.

B or C are closest to Rockwell 4 for me.
