I have talked to him several times via email and his Instagram page and he is definitely preparing for mass shipments but he admits that he is not great at returning emails and inquiries that well. He makes up for it by making an amazing razor with some of the best machining in the industry. When I first ordered my razor with D plate, it got stuck in customs for 2 additional weeks around the Christmas holidays. The E and F plates that he sent me arrived within 1.5 weeks from Canada. I live in Atlanta, GA. so I always expect 2 weeks on international deliveries. I know we are all expecting to get our razors ASAP after we place orders but, trust me, it is definitely worth the wait!!

I doubt that I will need any other plate. I will probably keep my D plate just to pass down to a son in law or grand son one day. As long as I’m using a great moisturizing soap like Grooming Dept, CRSW Glide or Wholly Kaw Donkey Milk, my skin will always be in good shape from shaving. I like a slightly more aggressive razor while still being smooth and the E and F plates hit that stride in spades for me. Again, this is just my opinion. I see that some of the guys on all of these threads feel like the D is too aggressive for them. To each their own. I think Chris has done an incredible job hitting the sweet spot for everyone with all of his varied plates and to top it off, the machining is done on an extremely high level so this one is a forever keeper for me.

I received my shipping notice late last night AND an email from Chris explaining the delay was caused by a large batch of orders that came through recently and he had to play catch up.

Ok, update from Chris last night via email. Get ready because he will have 20 E plates and 20 F plates available on the website Monday or Tuesday. He has been working on the flood of orders that have come in these last couple weeks and finishing up all of the open orders today and then finishing all of the E and F plates tomorrow so he can have them ready for purchase Monday or Tuesday. He told me to send his apologies for shipping delays and or order delays. He has a full time job and is working late in to the night to fulfill open orders and get all of the plates ready for open orders and prepare for the flood of orders he will get when he puts the new plates on the website. Thanks for your patience and know that you all will not be disappointed!!

Just used my Karve for the first time last night. I love mild razors and I used the AA plate. Wow that is a killer razor. So extremely smooth and plenty efficient for me. You do not even feel the blade. A nice change from my ATT M1 which has quite a bit of blade feel.

Can’t wait to try out the A & B plates.

Chris, you nailed it out of the park with this one!

I would be very interested in your impressions of the milder plates. Most folks seem to be going for the C and D (and E,F). However, I am one of those where if I have to feel my face after a pass because it didn't feel like the razor was doing anything and finding my face smooth, that is the best razor.

A True Yo-Yo
I just placed an order for one of these with a 3 1/2 inch handle and both the A and B plates. I'm excited to see how it shaves.

UPDATE - I placed an order just before my post her last night. Fifteen minutes later I received a shipping confirmation. It is on its way.

Almost an old shaver
Southern Appalachia - GA
Been watching some of the comments and decided to pull the trigger on a purchase. Looking forward to the arrival and trying the razor. I will post my thoughts after I have the opportunity to have a few shaves.

I’m tempted!

I am now trying to have a small amount of razors, but it’s hard.

Can anyone compare the B plate to other razors? And the C?

Edit: Bought the razor with C plate.

Comparing the Karve to my Rockwell 6S, I think that there are several things about the Karve that seem to set it apart. I really like how it balances in my hand. I ordered the 3.5 inch handle and it seems like the ideal length for me at this point. The guilloche pattern cut into the handle provides a really good grip, better than the Rockwell. When I hold the Karve it feels more natural than the top heavy Rockwell. With the Rockwell I always feel like I am fighting the top heavy beast a little bit trying to maintain control. I don't have that feeling with the Karve.

Unfortunately, I cannot compare the Karve to a Blackbird because my Bird appears to have gotten lost in the mail.
