I believe they will notify me when shipped to asked for my plate selection ( I hope). They only use express (Canadian ) shipping but that is okay with me as it will arrive very quickly. Looking forward to this razor. They did indicate shipping will be December 11.

On the website they state-- "Please specify which guard you want when you go through the checkout.   If you're not sure which guard you want, I will be confirming each order before they go out and you can still change your mind then."

So they should notify you prior to shipping to confirm your baseplate choice.

Hopefully. If you want an additional plate the process is easy as it gives you a drop down to make a selection.

Agreed. At the drop down menu during checkout it specifies which handle length and optional guards. But nothing on what you would want as standard on the razor. I opted for both C and D plate guards. Hopefully as is stated on their website, I will be contacted on that issue before it ships. Might as well ask for the B guard and use that as a base starting point with this razor.

Hmm, hadn’t seen those gap numbers before, and they would make me reconsider the D guard (and perhaps go with the C). As said, though, blade exposure is another determining factor in the matter.

Which guards did you end up ordering, if I may ask? Keep us posted on the razor, it truly is an interesting one.

C and D my friend. And hopefully B when I'm contacted before shipping.

Just go a confirmation from Chris @ Karve Shaving. Will be getting a D plate with my razor order. Hopefully this razor will be similar to Charcoal Goods but at a much lower price.

Canadian my friend. I flinched and ordered a set with 2 more optional guards/plates for $196.95 CAD which came out to $155 and a couple of pennies. I wanted to pull the trigger on the Timeless version, but the gap size was kind of on the low end and while some of the reviews were good, some reviewers felt it was a tad mild. I decided against purchasing it. Then this one comes along. I'm weak......

This is very good news for Canadians. Smile

I have been following the progress from the early concept stages. He had contemplated offering a polished and matte version but decided to go with the matte version for the launch. I was contemplating getting the full set of plates, but am going to hold off for a polished one.

Its not clear from the description on the website, however, from looking at the finish in the images on closeup I would say that this razor is manufactured by the Metal Injection Moulding process with some machining touch ups like the checkering on the handle. This is the same technique used in the Rockwell 6s and what allows a solid stainless steel or brass (or whatever metal) to be manufactured at a relatively reasonable price.

After looking at a lot of Instagram pictures and captions Chris does mention machining. I can't imagine taking on this venture without using CNC manufacturing.

Interesting, it could just be the resolution in the pictures but it doesn't look like a machined finish to me. Caveat, I'm not an expert, I made the comment because the finish of the razor looked a lot like the finish on the Rockwell 6s. Did he say it was bead blasted? That might explain the finish. If its machined then thats a great price.

Does anyone know how to contact them, directly? They have no contact information on their website.
