Soon enough in three days, I'll be able to judge for myself. Thoughts? .58-90 a blade seems consistent that's pretty darn speny.  They better be as sharp as feather and last longer at that price point.

Hi, I have just ordered the Kai blades myself. I enjoy Polsilver blades, so will be interesting to compare them. Will let you know.

I have been shaving with a KAI DE blade this week and I enjoy them.  I am not a huge fan of Feather blades.  Yes, they give an incredibly close shave but only twice.  They then, quite simply, stop working.  I get a week's worth of shaves from the KAI and while they may not be quite as sharp as the Feather my results are at least DFS or, more likely, BBS as they were today when paired with my Gillette Old Type razor.

Freddy I concur on the feather blades.  I don't even attempt a third shave with them anymore.  Two and toss but they have proven time and time again to give me a great smooth shave for those two shaves.  I'm going to try the KAI tomorrow AM with the muhle R41 and see how they perform thanks for insights

I'll look forward to your thoughts on them. Smile

I've heard kai's being very close in sharpness to feathers, but being substantially smoother than them.

For me, Kai blades don't give a hugely impressive shave. I use the Feather AS-D2 razor mostly so feather blades are silky smooth in that razor so if there is any extra smoothness to Kai I don't notice is since the razor compensates.

I had read a lot of really good reviews of Kai blades but was disappointed when I got them.  They are sharp but I don't think they are a smooth as everyone claimed IMO.  Also they were brittle, at least the batch I got.  I use a torsion style slant razor, and when I set the blade in the head I could hear it cracking as I tightened down on it.  I wasn't torqueing down either.  so that coupled with the price and just novice performance in my razor I haven't used them since.

Have never used the DE Kai but I use their SE blades in my Feather Artist Club and after a lot of vacillating, have come to prefer them to the Feather. Very smooth, very sharp, and very durable. Am interested to know how you like them. And your virgin shave with one is in a Muhle R41? My hat is off to you. That's courage.

Shaved this weekend twice with the KAI blades and the R41.... Very smooth, very sharp, got great shaves but, I was very cognizant of what I was doing.  I had yet to use an "aggressive" blade in this very great, aggressive razor.  I Must say, on my neck the difference was telling.  Close, the first pass and not the third.  I had been using shark blades in this razor since getting it a couple weeks ago since I find them forgiving.  With the Kai, one pass on neck, two on face, and both were BBS.  I also believe I will use these blades for four shaves and not my normal two I use with other blades
