My Blackbird and Floating Head feel to me way more aggressive than my MMOCs.  Fatip Mk1, Pearl OC, R41-13'as well.

It's called YMMV.Smile Not like people who don't like the MMOC don't know how to shave. Count me among them. I thought it was horribly harsh, but I would be willing to give it another try since it's been a while.

certainly an oddity because I hardly notice the blade feel on my Blackbird, especially when compared to my Ikon Tech & Muhle R41. The MMOC, that was an entirely different beast on my face...it was....awful!

my technique and soap lathering skills might be better than they were a few years ago so I'll definitely need to revisit that razor sooner or later to give it another go.

The Blackbird felt reasonably smooth on my beard but ATG on my head it was not. Timeless does a lot better for me..and feels about the same level of aggression as the MMOC (probably my favorite head shaver).

Well, to be clear, it never "tore me to pieces" or ever actually drew blood. It just felt harsh and I'd end up with irritation after every shave. Like I said, I'm going to have to try it again. Like you mentioned, prices are low and they are plentiful so it shouldn't be too hard to acquire a decent one.

Thought I had an MMOC. Turns out it's a G Bar. Guess I need to hit some antique stores. Should be able to find one cheap.

Or can usually fine a clean cased one for $15 on you know where.

For some reason I can't post on BST  or PM those who do. Frustrating!

Can anyone tell me why this is? I've e-mailed DFS support but not yet heard back. Perhaps because it's the weekend.

This thread quickly turned to a Gem MMOC from the IKoN Tech

I am a "born again" MMOC believer as of yesterday, after having tried using it unsuccessfully several times in the past and having nicks cuts and weepers and the "tore my face" episodes. I decided to give it another shot after reading a lot on the technique and kept the razor - "flat against the face", zero pressure and slow short strokes.

I got one of the best BBS shaves of my life and once I got the handle on the technique and felt more confident - it was just like any other DE in moving around my face contours , but being mindful.

It's nearly 24 hours now and it's time for Monday shave but I think the BBS lasted for quite a while yesterday. I guess I'll use the Micromatic clog pruf today as there isn't as much stubble to clean as usual !

I was using a Personna Gem PTFE coated blade on its third day !
