Veni, vidi, vici
Vault 111
The Feather quality and the security of the blade make it my favorite. I can buff under my chin at will and know that I will not get any irritation. The R41 keeps me honest with my technique, while giving me an extremely close shave. When I am finished shaving with the R41 and I have no nicks or weepers (which is pretty much the standard now), I have a great sense of satisfaction. The other razors in my den don't get nearly the game time that these two do. I should probably put them on a B/S/T thread. Or not. I never got RAD. Wink

  1. Edwin Jagger DE89
  2. GEM G-Bar (sold, didn't capture my interest)
  3. Gillette Super Adjustable (sold, didn't like the shave)
  4. Type E Injector (sold)
  5. Cadet open comb - main razor for a long time, given to a buddy.
  6. Cadet Model 11 TTO
  7. iKon slant
  8. Mongoose - my daily driver

I've also been fortunate to get to try a few other razors as well: Cobra Classic, straight razor, and Feather AC. My wife has a Lady Gillette, which I have also used.

My son is 11 - I think I'll end up giving my EJ to him when he starts to shave in a few years.

The first 3 were from Amazon ...

1. Merkur long handle (forget model)
2. EJ 89
3. Merkur 34c

Then I got a Futur from a vendor, an old Gillette & a straight from eBay ..... Then the flood gates opened

Number 1 was Merkur 38C. Twenty-five razors later they are not in order that I remember. However, I believe the last is the RazorRock Rake which is the same head as the Parker 24C or 26C. Whew, let's not do soaps and brushes please.

My first was my father's '75 black beauty. From there I got a 34c, followed by the Standard razor. Currently still patiently waiting for my turn with Wolfman.

1.) Maggard MR22

Great razor, just gave it to a young guy to start his wet shaving journey.

2.) RazoRock Rake

Wanted an open comb that was slightly more aggressive than the MR22, this razor was a great choice to fill that void. Very efficient and gives a great shave.

3.) Merkur 37C

I wanted a slant and was a little scared that this may be too aggressive for me after reading several reviews. My fear was unfounded, I have found this razor to be rather mild (just slightly more aggressive than the MR22) and it is now my daily user.

What do you think of the Mongoose?

Nice line up. Which razor do you use the most? The ATT? I've been kicking around the possibility of buying the R41 (because of its aggressiveness) or an ATT. For my information, if you could use only one of these once per week, which would it be?

I love it. I have literally not shaved with anything else sense I got it. I have planned to, once or twice. But every time it's time to shave, I reach for the 'goose instead.
