Fantastic buy for me.

$71.00 MSRP for any shaving soap/cream IMO is insane.

Looks like it has SLS and many parabens inside.

I don't think I can make do with just one tub of this...lol.

It completely outshone some heavyweights like MDC, ADP and ABC.

It’s great to stumble in to things that bring you so much joy.

I really liked the sample that I bought from shavedash.com. I've got a lot more soap to get through before I consider buying a container of SMN, but I'd definitely consider it. By my calculation, I was averaging a cost of $0.31/shave. Expensive, but less than other creams and soaps I've used on a cost per shave basis.

I noticed that the Smallflower page describes SMN as "100 percent paraben-free", while at  the same time listing parabens among the ingredients.  FWIW I have a different ingredients list, kindly provided by Steve56 in this post:

Admittedly, this post is over a year old, but OTOH it does not contradict itself.

I bought that directly from SMN about 18 months ago. I think Smallflower need to update their listing.

Price isn’t bad, remember it’s a generously packed 220ml. So for the amount of most soaps and creams of about 125ml, SMN would be $35.50. Not cheap, but it’s easy to find watery artisan soaps at that price or above.

I think this used to be a pharmacy run by monks or nuns (wild guess).
The germans call this kind of outfit 'Apotheke'. Maybe some German
dude will set me right on this.

Apotheke is just a generic term for pharmacy. Not specific to ones run by monks or nuns. Smile

I purchased from a boutique outside US....worked out to about US$58.
Not too shabby....I can think of many other shaving implements that are
waaaaay overpriced. I classify SMN as 'affordable indulgence'.

Some eye candy for the SMN people. Agua Balsamica pairs nicely if you want a lighter touch.
