I used it again yesterday with a Feather...

...but I'm finding it hard to fall in love with this razor.   Sad

It was love at first shave with the 6S, Fatip, Slim and Standard Razor, but I'm struggling to warm up to the X3.

I hear you, Elver Gun I've been using the X3 for 4 consecutive days after using it and setting it aside when I first got it. Two days with the Rapira swedish steel - not great and 2 days with the Feather - better but still not as good as the #102. I keep asking myself why I continue trying to find the ideal combination with a razor like the X3 when I have a great set up already with the 102. I guess I'm just crazy. But will I stay crazy? Good question.

The crazy thing is that the X3 is not a bad razor.   Maybe my expectations where too high.

You are making wish I had purchased a 102 instead of the X3.   Confused

I switched to the 102 this morning with the same Feather blade I've been using in the X3 for the past 2 days - I love the 102. Its that little bit smoother than the X3 for me. One thing I notice is that I get blade chatter with the X3 when I'm shaving against the grain on my chin and I don't get that with the 102. My chin is where the coarsest whiskers are and thats the test for me of a razor and or a blade is how good a job I can get there without problems.

I know the 102 is a little more $ but they do come up occasionally on the BST because like all things shaving YMMV and not everyone loves them.

Got mine today from BST. I forgot how heavy the bulldog is, since been using custom and JH titanium handles. I had to media blast the handle so it goes better with the head style.

I've had my x3 for a few weeks now. I'll probably give it a whirl tonight with an astra sp blade..

I tried the x3 tonight with a gillette platinum blade that Pete123 sent me. I was surprised how the shave went considering my shave with an ikon 102 slant was pretty terrible! I had 1 small weeper, but I pretty much get a weeper in the same exact spot most of the time regardless of what razor I'm using.

andrewjs18, glad you liked the blade. Gillette markets a bunch of blades under the Gillette Platinum brand, though the ones I sent are the best.

Just shaved with mine this morning with feather blade. Seems on par with my Fatboy on setting 4 or my Aristocrat 15 SB. The X3 does do a better job under my chin.
Been some time since I used a slant, had ATT S1 and iKon DLC slant. But at that time I was a NOOB so can't count my bad shaves with those. Lol.
