The razor looks nice I like the way it clamps the blade farther out toward the end also. It's a nice-looking kit.
As a back ground notes, I've been using a Wolfman .74 wr1 open comb, a Blackbird and CG Lv3 in stainless steel. These three have been my rotation the last few weeks.
So I loaded up the .90 plate with a (2) Wizamet blade, as it was late after a 14 hour work day. I've got two days of growth to shave off.
After a shower I used the new DG Milksteak soap from a bowl lather to face.
This .90 SB plate is very smooth not much of a blade field at all. I don't really know what the specs are to this razor but it doesn't feel like much exposure with the blade. It felt like, to me, there was a narrow place I had to be in, angle wise. Too steep of angle and it would not cut or too low of a blade angle and I lost cutting action also, so it was pretty intuitive to see where it was cutting and when it was not. Seem like to me it work best with a handle held higher than I'm accustomed to. At times I was leaving quite a bit of soap behind with this plate, but I was reassured with that soap I could go ahead and make another swipe in the same place and have lots of protection. I did a three pass shave with some cleanup. I had quite a bit more whiskers left than I'm used to on my most difficult areas below the jawline, but that was ok, for now. Going against the grain was very smooth even below the chin on the neck which is a bit painful sometimes. All in all it was a pleasant shave with about average or a little bit better results, considering how extremely smooth it was.
It'll be two days until I have another shave, which will either be with the open comb or the most aggressive plate.
