Truly a wonderful shave today with the START  .90 OC. Works well with every blade that I’ve used so far but, especially with Feather, Shark Platinum, Kai & an assortment of Gillettes ranging from the Black Ninjas, Greens, Yellows, Platinums plus a couple of others that escape me at the moment. I can’t speak enough on the quality of shaves it provides in terms of comfort, efficiency and overall ease of use. Undoubtedly an excellent tool and superb value in todays upscale modern de market.  Definite winner for many......

The new Hummingbird razor with plates going up to 1.50 SB and 1.30 OC is coming in June. They are finished but decided to send them to a jeweler for a much better polished finish. Also they have an all titanium Taiga that is also possibly coming around June with a shorter handle and they have done away with the OC plate.

Don’t have pricing yet but here are some pics of the polished Hummingbird SB 1.30 and 1.50 baseplates as well as the new Taiga stand.

Still a very capable and excellent shaving platform is the START razor from HomelikeShaving. This evening I went with the 1.18 base plate with a twice used Gillette Yellow. A super smooth finish on both face & neck that left a no question BBS on my final face feel inspection. Superb razor geometry that gives instant feedback yet still is fantastic on being gentle on the skin. HomelikeShaving really did their homework with the START. Exceptional quality, craftsmanship and final product execution that rivals some of the best in the business. Very little talk on this razor with everything else out there but, this is no slouch in the performance oriented razor arena. It’s a gamer….

Yes, I know. This razor is halfway around the world and mostly out of stock. But, I can’t reiterate enough how effective this shave kit is. The set covers practically the whole range from mild to nicely efficient and aggressive but, still maintaining an easy on the skin quality about it. I said very early when I first started out with the Start kit that it was a superbly crafted razor kit and one of the best made in contemporary times. I still believe that and more so now. Value, craftsmanship, quality alloy and top notch shave prowess. Arguably the best razor kit that no one seems to really talk about. Shame as it really is a magnificent creation…..

I am waiting on the .68 to restock. They do look like great razors!
