Oh thank you for that. this is my second pre-shave because I complained about the first one that went bad so he sent me a second one and same thing. I bet I only used it three times. But thank you.

Hi @“keto”.  Was the problem with version 1 or 2 of the preshave, and was a particular scent involved? — Thx.
It looks like it was in June when he sent me the replacement. I don't know what version that is cedarwood and lime. HighSpeed I thought about it and I got this cedarwood and lime was sent to me after the version 2 was made.

I also prefer the first version of the preshave. I have the unscented version 2, and it smells a little "fishy". I'm sure it's due to the konjac root. I also prefer the consistency of version 1 more. I had sent Mo my feedback on version 2, I'd suggest you guys do the same.

Thanks for your reply and comments keto and shaveSymptomatic.  Just to be clear, I only asked because the viscosity of my version 2 has thickened up.  I went back and smelled it, and I had to sniff very hard to smell something that might be objectionable.  In short, there was no smell that would deter me, although I will keep an eye on it (or a nostril, as the case may be Smile).

Lol, a nostril that's a good one, but true!

Anyone speak to them lately to get the status on a more aggressive OC base plate? Love the 1.18SB and can not wait for that adjustable with the SB and OC base plates. Hope that one is coming soon because I have never seen an adjustable with a swappable base plate. Just a thought, an adjustable dual comb would be amazing!!

I wanted to put the Start up against the smoothest razor in my den, the RS10 Ti.
Preshave- Hot shower & Castle & Forbes pre-shave
Soap - Castle &  Forbes lavender
Brush- Carnavis & Richardson B3
Thayer lavender and Castle & Forbes lavender balm to end the shave.
I used a 2 use Persona Red in the Start .90 Sb vs RS10 Ti aggr plate
First pass WTG. The RS10 is significantly lighter and was a little smoother WTG, minimal blade feel with either razor but they both took down the majority of my 24 hour growth.
Second pass XTG. Again the RS10 was just a touch smoother.  Cold water rinse and the RS10 side was only in need of a touchup under the jawline and the upper lip, the Start side needed more on my neck plus upper lip and jawline.
Third pass ATG.  I was really enjoying the shave so I did a full lather and did a complete ATG pass. Both razors handled it very smoothly with a slight nod to the RS10.
I got a wife tested BBS shave with both razors, no irritation at all.  I would say the RS10 is still the smoothest razor in my collection, the Start( especially based on cost) did very well but was slightly less efficient and not as smooth as the RS10.
