With little practice, it became easy to manage the cutting angle.
Almost instant to find, and fairly easy to maintain.
The only drawback is the need to clean the razor often.
Not because it gets clogged, on the contrary, but because of the lack of exposure.

Contrary to Mellon geometry, the "water blade" here is scarce.

Therefore it finds advantage in frequent cleaning, and supply of water.
This makes the cut clean and extremely efficient.
In three passes, totally silent, an absolute BBS.
Like comfort during and after shaving.

Again, I am seriously impressed.
This Henson Shaving AL13 Medium Dual Tone BRB is a real treat.

Now I'm curious about the Mild base.

Hensontech
Are the two bases interchangeable?
If yes, available as stand alone?

What a pity. Sad

My experience with the Muppet Razor continues.
On IG they point out that it is in full Captain America style.

Adapting my practice, the razor is very performing.
Gentle on the skin, but in three passes the result is perfect.
Mine are orthogonal to my face mapping, in everyday use.
An excellent fast and durable BBS, and above all a lot of comfort.

As can be seen in detail, this geometry has a flaw in its ease of cleaning.

Considering also the fact that the two bases are not interchangeable, I would like a slight modification.
It would take little to eliminate both of these inconveniences, which would make the expansion of the experience more attractive.
In fact, I personally would like to try the Mild version, if the simple compatible base is available.
And I would do it easier knowing that I don't have to waste time with the toothbrush to avoid limescale.

But in fact, this Henson Shaving AL13 does not present any real difficulties.
Although less intuitive and more technical than expected.
Once you understand how to handle it, it's a real pleasure.

Sorry just to clarify, does this mean that the baseplates are not interchangeable? Or they're not available to buy as standalone plates?
Or maybe both I guess...
Thx

ischiapp, can you go into a bit more detail about it being less intuitive and more technical than expected?

Find the correct cutting angle, with other geometries is faster.
To mantain it over all the shave, with other geometries is easier.
So, after some practice with a good technique, It's very easy and fast.
But not at first, so maybe IMHO It's not for newbies.

In the next days I'll compare my golden standard (PP1489) to AL13.
I think It'll be a good challenge for my champion.

My understanding, based on discussion with Henson, is that the two baseplates (i.e. mild and medium) are not interchangeable with each other.

They also confirmed that they do not sell individual baseplates at the current time, only complete razors.

Cheers, thank you.
And that's interesting, because I guess that means its a different top cap being used for the men's and women's razors.
