I know a bit back they posted they could send someone a more aggressive base plate but thought it was a prototype and unsure how it shaves.......

It was said a while back that the FAQ states that women’s razor is the mild one, and the men’s one is medium.
But his site now has a women's, and two men's (mild, medium). Is the Mild men's the same as the women's?

The ones I have were listed on Shaving Station as having a 0.85mm blade gap, and I understand that these are the medium version.

Two of them have L# 001M stamped on both the baseplate and top cap, whilst the third is unmarked.

I’m not sure whether this can be used as a means to identify the Mild from the Medium version, though?

Thank you, that's probably true but I was at the men's razors and they had the selection of either or listed under the men's razor. That causes some confusion.....

It may not help with identifying an existing razor, but if you scroll down at https://hensonshaving.com/products/alumi...9794528336 there's a "Technical Data" tab with lots of info...

I looked that over some time ago. Awesome detail on the razor. I can't recall ever seeing a manufacturer going to that level on a razor. Big kudos on that

Sorry about the confusion on the Mild, Medium-Men's, Women's.

We are sorting out the labeling topic before we manufacture more.  Ideally we will move away from Men's and Women's...nobody like these terms as they are not inherently descriptive across the board.  With the L:001M(W)   L00:2M(W) and (dot) and no engraving, we have done this to a) keep the baseplates and topcaps in groups.  Our goal was to machine batches at a time...because it contained variables...and  having several dimensions as influential on the net resultant of exposure, made this a good idea to us.  Especially seeing as we are controlling the exposure to witin .0005".

Women's = Mild
Mens = mild or medium
This option was added so men who would like Mild, would not have to select a women's razor to get that Smile

Lots explained:
1st batch
No engraving = (Men's)Medium  ---   back in the beginning it was only Men and Women to denote mild an medium...bad move)
One small dot = (women's) Mild

2nd batch
L00:1 M  = medium
L00:1 W  = mild

3rd batch
L:002 M  = medium
L:002 W  = mild

Moving forward we aim to streamline the nomenclature crababble.
Especially because there likely be 2 more levels of aggression, thou, likely only available in the Titanium and Tungsten models.

Hope this clears things up.  lemme know if you have more unknowns.

I dunno, I think I like the black & red best...solves the problem of "black looks good but is a royal pain to find inside a bag..."

Seriously, it's gotten to the point where I try quite hard to avoid buying anything that's going to be carried loose in a bag or pouch in black.

Though actually, if I got one of these I'd immediately be getting in touch with Frugal Shave for a tin...

Thank you for clarifying things - it’s been really helpful.

I’m liking the sound of a Tungsten razor - it is a material I’ve never seen used before in a razor design.
