Breathing a sigh of relief over here as more reviews come in. Thought I was delusional for a bit.

There were quite a few responses on another forum....but they got deleted for some reason.  The comments on Trustpilot seem to be positive as well.  Trust me, during the creation of this, I had to convince myself many times I wasn’t delusional.

A couple of shaves in with the Henson and there is some magic in this thing, it isn’t my most efficient razor but with some extra touch ups it gives me a close and most importantly comfortable irritation free shaves, this razor doesn’t feel scary or menacing but ultimately gets to the end results I’m aiming for. I can’t imagine anyone not being able to get along with this razor, well done for a new company to the market

I'll probably succumb sooner than later on this for the price. The design and just how little blade exposure there is is really interesting. I usually prefer stainless steel razor heft. Guess I should use my one aluminum razor again and see if I decide if I need another razor in aluminum!

Handle length is on their website, it was 3.7X (don't remember the exact length)

Yeah, I like thicker handles too, but the majority of modern brass or stainless razors have massive solid handles, on the order of 75-90 g.
From the Henson FAQ:
"The handle is .473” at the tail and tapers up to .394” near the head.  
The length is 3.750” to the radius at the tail."

My ideal handle size and weight is the hollow Fat-Handle from a Tech
The Henson's diameter averages 11 mm, which is close to that of a fat-handle Tech at 11.2 mm. That's a good thing.
The length of 95.25 mm is considerably longer than that of a FH Tech's 77.1.
Even so, the total razor mass of 37 g is even lighter than the FH Tech's 48 g, and maybe the extra handle length helps the balance.

Here’s a couple more shots to see how the head holds the blade. It’s truly impressive. You can also see how big the lather channels are. 

Is the finish on the head actually as rough as this looks?
The exposed blade edge also looks equally rough, with those black speckles, so is it just an artifact from a photoshop filter or something?

About that trapezoidal cross-section - do you find that it forces you to use exactly one shaving angle?
With a curved cap you can ride the cap or ride the guard, and either extreme can be made to work, even if less efficiently.
With this flat edge though, it looks like the correct angle finds itself. Raise or lower the handle and you get no blade contact.
Does that sound about right?

I think you could overcome the angle if you tried but the couple of shaves I’ve had it feels almost automatic, so if you want a challenge I’d recommend looking elsewhere but if you want a close comfortable shave this delivers

No, if I wanted a challenge I'd try a straight, or a devette.
I meant the "automatic angle" thing as a good feature (if indeed it does that), not as something to try to get around for the fun of it.

Does anyone know if the head is cast in a mold or CNC machined (before the aluminum is anodized with the color)? I could not see any mold marks in the pictures, but the finish appears similar to a "smooth cast and tumbled" finish.

I ordered on August 17th and it shipped on the 18th. Still waiting.

The only cast solid razor I have is stainless and this is much more crisp and precise looking
