Could you please describe the main scent of Veritas? Is the Cocoa strong or light? I am willing to take a blind chance on purchasing all your scents but I am really not a big chocolate fan.

Now that I think about it, the chocolate scent may attract the ladies.

It's definitely not a gourmand scent. The Cocoa is drier and woodier, more like the scent one gets from cocoa powder. It's subtle not up front.

Is that from the Hiba Japanese Cedarwood?

Other stuff (sandalwood related ingredients), the Hiba, Hinoki and Alaskan cedarwood are for the Hinoki Primus soap

To my nose, I find that Chypre Conifere smells a lot like Aromatics Elixir by Clinique which is also a woody Chypre.

I have to admit I don't know what cardamom even is let alone what it smells like. However,I am most definitely a citrus lover. Can you possibly describe the scent if at all possible? I'm guessing it'll pair well with majority of citrus soaps?

Cardamom is a spicy, warm scent that seems to blend well with various other scents. To illustrate the versatility of the spice, I understand that in many parts of the world, cardamom is used as flavoring in savory dishes. However, I grew up enjoying it in coffeebreads and pastries, as in the Nordic countries, it is mainly used in baking.

Question on the pre-shave:

I've used the pre-shave for a couple of shaves but I have yet to work it into the regular routine. I have followed the instructions each time i've used the product. But I noticed today that the product was becoming more "soapy" on my beard than it had the previous few times I used it. I believe I used more water today than in the past which is what caused the "soapy" feel rather than a "film-like" product. I will also say that the slickness wasn't as good today but, holy cow, the post-shave was fantastic!

So my question is when applying the pre-shave, should it have a more "soapy" consistency or more "film-like". (I know my descriptions aren't scientific or well-worded, but I hope everyone understands what i mean)

What I do is rub it in till it becomes a thin, slippery film. You may have to add a few drops of water or a bit more product. Like soap..once you get it it down it will be easy to dial in..
