I have little love for MdC but Mo did suggest he was going to do this about a month or so ago.

I may be in a minority...but.I found MdC to be a sub-par performer - for my skin anyway - in terms of protection and comfort. I’m sure you’ll make a superior product. How they justify that high price has always been a mystery to me.

Interestingly, many US artisan soap makers started and continue to sell their interpretation of the base. There is a super long thread on a soap making forum where the base is discussed extensively.

My version will be 170g(6oz) for $23.00 first scent is will be Citrus Smile

IMHO .........DO IT!!

I have no idea how the preshave works for all soaps, but if you have a soap you already like a lot, I think you will like it even better after using the prehave.  One other thing:  Unless things have changed, even the scented ones are subtle.  They stay pretty much out of the way scentwise IME.

Not a bad name for a Valentine's Release.

I’ve used many also...with the same results. But..this one actually does work!! And works great!

The scented versions are VERY lightly scented..like 1-2/10. I actually prefer my Lavandar one over the Unscented. And no, it doesn’t at all interfere with any of my soap scents.

How would you say it helps? Just as a lather booster, hair softener, or does it nourish your skin that much better?

Hmm, tough to quantify - but I think the lather felt slicker and the post shave (how long I can go without using anything) was definitely better.

I think softening of hair has more to do with other preps (like shower, washing your face etc) than use of pre-shave and/or lather.

Experience here is both softens hair and (mostly) provides skin protection

Sounds good, my main goal is slickness. Teaching myself straights the past few months so all good news, thanks.

I’m not really sure. I’m not a chemist..lol..But...all I can say is shaves are MUCH more smooth and comfortable with it than without it. After proper application it leaves a very thin, slick, moisturized layer. During the shave it feels like the blade is gliding with much less friction...It even enhances GD soaps. And really is a shot of steroids to underperforming soaps. I really don’t think you’ll be disappointed. But...do follow the detailed usage instructions on the product description on the website.
