Soaps, release dates, and anything shaving-related aside, you have prayers and support from all of us. It is best if you give priority to your health for the time being, everything will work out at the end Smile

THIS!!

Shaving passion aside, we are a community, and people are more important than soaps.

I'm very excited to share with you Island In The Sun, a collaboration with Sean @ Maol Grooming. This release was supposed to happen early summer, but I didn't follow through with Sean and I dropped the ball in terms of communication. I do owe you an apology Sean, I'm sorry it took so long.

The scent is very rich juicy citrus, with lots of depth. Really nice complex profile. I'm honored to use it in one of my soaps. The top cap label is also provided by Sean @ Maol Grooming!

This is the first Janus-tallow release. This soap base has lots of Cupuacu Butter, as you probably know, I'm a big fan of it. It's a powerhouse alternative to lanolin, it even dwarfs it in how much water it can hold. I don't have anything against lanolin, in fact, I'm working on a special edition soap that makes use of 4 different types of lanolin and it's by-products.

Three other interesting ingredients in this base: Larch Arabinogalactan and Glucomannan (Konjac root). Those two ingredients provide humectantcy and give the soap base an interesting texture. The third ingredients is Marshmallow Extract which is usually used in small quantities, but I used it here in larger quantities for it's mucilage characteristics. The roots and leaves of the marshmallow plant were traditionally used to soothe irritated or sore skin.

Aqueous extracts and polysaccharides from Marshmallow roots (Althea officinalis L.): cellular internalisation and stimulation of cell physiology of human epithelial cells in vitro

The base also relies heavily on Camelina Oil. The next paragraph is from Wikipedia

The crop is now being researched due to its exceptionally high level (up to 45%) of omega-3 fatty acids, which is uncommon in vegetable sources. Seeds contain 38 to 43% oil and 27 to 32% protein.Over 50% of the fatty acids in cold-pressed camelina oil are polyunsaturated. The oil is also very rich in natural antioxidants, such as tocopherols, making this highly stable oil very resistant to oxidation and rancidity.

I hope you like it Smile

Mo,
Is this the 48 hour announcement before the release of the new soaps on your site?

Thanks Mo. I appreciate it. Sometimes things come up.

I really look forward to this release and can only imagine how great this base is. I hope the scent lives up to it.

Cheers!
