gone to Carolina in my mind
2018-09-29 SOTN (last night)

I had another excellent shave, but it was far from perfect - more like a bumpy ride to a lovely place.  The first good thing was that the lather was better – not the best, but good enough.  I bowl lathered this time, which helped.  The second thing is that I used the right hand a little less, which made things go quicker and helped my concentration.  The third good thing – which surprised me – was that the DX mercilessly mowed down two PITA zones on my neck.  These areas take inordinate time with a safety razor.  With help from the OneBlade, I ended up with a BBS, and my skin felt great post shave.  OTOH it took a long time, and I once again had the “disappearing red spots” – roughly a half dozen little nicks, all of which stopped bleeding before the end of the shave.   After a quick warm water rinse, I splashed on some witch hazel this time because one of the dots looked pink, like sunburn.  Anyway, I’m very satisfied with the result, but it wasn’t the most fun shave I ever had, nor was it elegantly done.  It took too long, the straight razor part is understandably still challenging for me, and by all accounts it will remain challenging for many more shaves.
