I just popped the lid on my Ambrosia. My goodness - very duckish!

Animalistic, not in a pheromone way, but in a blood and guts way. I will reserve my opinion until I actually use it.

This is my first non-vegan soap and I think I might have jumped into the deep end too quickly.

Looking forward your thoughts on the soap's performance and scent. Michael P got an interesting observation: You may want to leave the soap uncovered for a day before and after the first shave.

I received my order of Credence and Mallard yesterday, and couldn’t wait for my Shave today! Off the puck with the Mallard I could smell Chocolate, Vanilla, and Sandalwood. The Credence off the puck I could hardly smell anything at all, but I remembered reading that the scents are supposed to really come out while lathering. I used Credence this morning for my Shave and the scent was absolutely Beautiful! It’s not an overly complex scent, the Lemon smells just like the rind of a Lemon and pairs beautifully with the Violet. I would rate the scent strength a 6-7 on a 10 scale. A lovely scent, this is something I could use on a daily basis and not get sick of. The soaps performance was outstanding, thick and slick as I’ve come to expect from my Grooming Dept Soaps. After the shave I did something that I’ve never done before, I applied the leftover lather to my face while cleaning up and enjoyed it’s scent, and after I was done I washed my face and just left it alone. No Toner. No Splash. My skin felt soft and there was absolutely no irritation. None. I couldn’t believe it! My skin still feels fantastic, more than eight hours after my shave.  Very much looking forward to Mallard, and I think I’m going to have to stock up on Credence, it’s a scent that I really enjoyed. I think GroomingDept Soaps are going to make me thin out my Den as far as Soaps are concerned, some of the others I own just don’t stack up. I can’t wait to try the Vegan Soaps, if they’re as good as everyone says they are they will definitely be joining the rotation![Image: MdVmatU.jpg][Image: LgmmJVm.jpg]

This is the secret to Grooming Dept soaps... put the leftover lather on your face when you're done shaving.

I leave it on while I clean up and then just rinse it off in the shower. My face feels amazing all day long and even into the next day. It's like having a shave and a facial treatment all in one.

Never would I have believed that anything could feel like this even after 24 hours have gone by after the shave. But every one of these soaps do this for me.

By far these are the best soaps I have ever used. I haven't been able to convince myself to use any of my other soaps, of which I have a lot, since I got these from Mohammed.

And by the way, you're after the shave feeling will continue to improve for the next 4 or 5 days if you keep putting on the excess lather at the end of your shaves. I swear that my face at 58 years of age, could run competition with a baby's butt for softness. LOL

Stunning lather sir! Thank you so much for the compliments. I'm really happy you're enjoying the soaps. The Credence scent will continue to evolve, and will get a bit stronger too. I look forward your thoughts post the Mallard shave.

Thanks, Mohammad GroomingDept for another great soap.

My experience with the Mallard scent was much the same as with the Aether: Not much in the way of scent when I first opened the jar and had my first shave. With the Mallard, I got hints of chocolate and sandalwood, and a teeny tiny bit of a hint of duck fat, which was not off putting at all. The chocolate, sandalwood, and vanilla expanded with the lathering.

I leave my soaps to dry overnight, uncovered, and by the next morning, the scent was very pronounced and quite nice. Spicy sandalwood, chocolate, a bit of vanilla, and that very slight duck fat scent was gone. I had a great shave with it yesterday, and this morning, I did a test lather, and the performance is remarkable, and the scent really blossomed having left it opened overnight.

My bottom-line opinion: The Mallard is top notch all around.

Super easy to lather.

The soap is very thirsty. I was so excited to try the soap, that I just loaded the brush and went right to the face. Didn't take me long to realize I needed more water, and the soap took quite a bit of it.

I think the next time I use it, I'll bowl lather so I can get a better sense of the amount of water it will take.

As I added water, the glide of the soap increased and was remarkable. Again, very protective, lots of cushion. This soap is in L&L neighborhood as far as density and glossiness of the lather. Just beautiful.

Post shave was phenomenal-maybe just a hair more protective/dense than the Aether, but only slightly. Definitely not the usual 'heavier' tallow post shave. Left the excess lather from the brush on the face while I cleaned up my gear, and it the feel after rinsing was exceptional. Soft, non-greasy. My face still feels great this morning.

Congrats on another successful launch-I'm looking forward to using the Creedence and Ambrosia!

Mallard Shave this morning up in the mountains. This soap is on an even higher level than the rest of Mohammad’s soaps and I did not think that was possible. The amount of lather you can create in a very short period of time is absolutely incredible. Love the scent combination and did not use aftershave with this or any of his soaps. I didn’t have my phone in the bathroom with me so no pics but trust me, my brush looked like a huge lightbulb when I finished building my lather. Soft, creamy and incredible lubrication! I had lather all over the sink and mirror after 20 seconds of building lather in my travel bowl. Bravo again Sir!!

I had an interesting experience last night showing a friend Credence. She grabbed the jar and sniffed it, she looked at me with blank expression, then she pinched the soap's surface and rubbed what looked like about a gram of soap between her thumb and index fingers, she immediately said that the scent popped up and said that it was quite noticeable. I was sitting across the table and I could smell too.

I will articulate on the website how my soap bases don't readily release their scent off the puck.

GroomingDept I had the same experience when I first received my Credence, I couldn’t smell anything but the faint smell of Tallow. That night I shaved with Credence and while lathering the scent really became apparent to me, I would rate it at a 6-7 on a 10 scale. The scent is lovely, I smell the rind of a Lemon and it pairs beautifully with the Violet! That night I left the lid off of the Soap to try and get rid of the faint Tallow smell, and the next morning when I got up the scent of Credence actually seemed to have become stronger and was filling the bathroom. The faint smell of Tallow had also disappeared to my nose. It’s such a beautiful scent I want to stock up on it to have a few backups, it’s a scent I could use every day and enjoy. My plain description of this Soap doesn’t do it justice, it’s Beautiful and my Wife loves it as well which is a big plus for me! Can’t wait for my shave with Mallard tonight!

This is interesting that a number of people here are reporting the scents get stronger over time. That seems very counterintuitive to me but is also exactly what I've been experiencing.

Over time, all of my scents from Mohammad have become stronger. I don't understand how that works, but it appears to be the case.

I shaved today with Aether. And it was a plenty strong smell that made for a very enjoyable shave.

This stuff just keeps getting better. I don't know how that's possible (as this is far and above anything else I've ever shaved with), but it is.
