Mohammad, as you know, my Kölnisch was waiting for me when I returned from St. Louis yesterday so, of course, it was on tap for this morning's shave.  I am very impressed with the soap.  The scent is subtle but I really like it.  As for the shaving properties, I now understand the praise you have been receiving.  The lather was thick and creamy with nice slickness and the post shave feel was fantastic.  There was absolutely no drying effect and I could have not bothered with a post shave product, though I have to admit that Geo. F. Trumper Essential Limes Skin Food wrapped up the shave beautifully.  Kölnisch was just an all-around terrific experience. Happy2

Freddy glad to hear you had a good first experience with this soap.

I have to guard against getting too enthusiastic about new products-you know, the excitement, the novelty, etc.  But in my very first shave with the Bonum Mane, I enjoyed the post-shave feel so much, I didn't use any post shave products-no toner, no AS, no balm, nada.

Since then, I've taken to my usual post-shave products, and the post-shave feel of the soap is still there.

I've thrown everything at this soap-small and large brushes, synthetic and badgers, bowl, face, and hand lathering, and it passed the tests with flying colors.

I've found that this soap has the thick creamy texture of a tallow soap and the 'lightness' of a non-tallow soap.

Even the unscented was a joy to use.

The one tiny thing I noticed is that I left the Kölnisch soap out to dry overnight, and left the lid label side down on the bathroom counter, and it left a green stain from the label. No big deal, it came out with a little scouring powder, but a heads up.

Thank you so much Michael, very kind of you!

I'm sorry about the mess the label made. I'm using polyester waterproof labels, but there seems to be a limit to their waterproofness! As my batches grow larger, I should be able to order higher grade labels that are truly waterproof.

No worries at all, Mohammad, I might have gotten a label that got more ink than the others. Hasn't happened with the Elan or the others, but I did want to give the members here a heads up not to leave it label side down on a wet spot for hours! Although, they probably would have figured that out for themselves Smile

I can probably guess the answer, but any plans to ever sell sample sizes? I'd love to try you soaps...But I have too many excellent soaps in my den already. These days, I only add excellent soaps with a scent I'm in love with. So, not that i doubt the quality of your soap, but scent is so personal. And as much as I'd love to spend a few hundred $ to try every scent, I also enjoy not sleeping on the couchWink Anyway, just curious about the possibility of samples down the road. Cheers.

Thank you so much for your interest in my soap.

Unfortunately offering samples is very tough, the nature of the soap base, and the size of the sample are not feasible for this type soap. But I'm making an exception Smile I'm planning on making 100 one ounce samples and selling them for $3.25 - US only offering. The price is just to cover shipping and PayPal/Shopify fees. I have not decided on a scent yet. I would love to hear suggestions on a scent I should use for the samples.

GroomingDept I am really enjoying your soaps! When do you think you will be releasing your tallow version?
Keep up the great work.

Good news. I figured the economics would make it tough to do on a regular basis. I'd love to hear from others who have tried a few scents-but then again no one seems to be displeased with any of the scents.

Thank you so much sir, I'm glad you like the soap! The tallow will be out in 3 weeks. There was delay in getting my ingredients on time.
