YMMV. The only modern blades I rank higher are the Gillette Platinum (as currently made in Russia) and the Gillette Rubie Platinum Plus. I wax & wane between these two as the best.
After reading your post, I got some Gillette Rubie Platinum Plus blades. Amazing! The best blade I have ever used. Thank you for posting that.

GSBs and Indian Greens are my two favorite blades. I find the Greens smoother and at least as sharp as the Russian-made Yellows (YMMV). Russian Perma-Sharps are probably #3 in my lineup.

One of my favorites, also. My favorite Gillette is the 7 O'Clock Sharp Edge. The SB would come second.

I too love the GSB blades, 2nd only to the Rapira Platinum Lux in my humble opinion, KAI blades a close 3rd for me.........

However, it goes to show you how personal opinion the performance of blades are when you read negative reviews of GSB blades, and those reviews are out there.

One of the only blades I've actually bought in bulk.

Used the Gillette Silver Blue for 3 days in a row in a Delta Echo, Super Speed and lathered each day with a Stirling Kong brush.

Day One: Used B&M Seville shaving soap. Excellent shave, very smooth feeling, a 10 out of 10. Result BBS. Zero irritation.
Day Two: Used my own Martin de Candre-like soap. Excellent shave, but not as smooth. I could feel some minor tugging. Result was BBS, but made me doubt the slickness of my soap.
Day Three: Used real Martin de Candre soap. Excellent shave, but even more tugging than day two. Slight razor burn on my neck. Result was DFS and restored my faith that my soap performed about as well as the real "MdC."

There were only two variables at play. 1. Different Soaps and 2. Different shave counts on the blade. Having used all 3 soaps numerous times for comfortable and close shaves, I think the issue may be that the GSB dulls more quickly than the Gillette 7 O'Clock stainless or Personna Lab Blue blades. That first shave was outstanding, but the next two were not. Looks like I'll have to have a do-over and use the same soap for 3 days in a row. You know -- for science. I have 99 test subjects left in the box, so we shall see.

I use four different blades. The Gillette Silver Blue is one and I consider it one of the best. However, I am not in love with the wax and the fact that the finish rusts more than other blades. It is however, a great performer. The other three are (in no specific order) Perma-Sharp Super, Polsilver Super Iridium and Personna Platinum Red Pack. I have large quantities of all. I also have a pack of Gillette 7 O'Clock Super Platinum Black that I am using and may become my fifth. I generally get 4-5 shaves from each.

I've never noticed rust on any of my blades other than my carbon GEMs. Are you sure that it's rust and not a tea stain?
