I still have a few tucks of the Nacet Platinum blades. They are among my favorite blades. I wish they were still available. I find them to be both sharp and smooth.

In my DE blade evaluation thread, I will be testing Nacet blades soon. I plan to do a "face-off" shave between the Nacet Platinum and Nacet Stainless blades to see if can detect any difference.

For those interested, I find the Gillette Minora blades to be quite similar to the Nacets. They tend to be a little less expensive than the Nacets, perhaps as they are not as well known.

Hi Ray,

Which Minora compares to which Nacet?   I notice a difference between the SS and Platinum Nacets but can use either.  Minora i may get a tuck of each.

Thanks

The Minora blades I tested were Minora stainless. While not exactly the same as the Nacet stainless, they were close enough that them might be the same blade in different packaging with just sample variation.

I’d love to have gotten some Nacet Platinums since Nacet is a top 3 blade for me up there with Rubie, and GSB. But I got into wet shaving too late and they were gone. As a blade junkie I’ll keep an eye out for some.

I got a 5 pack tuck of Minora a couple years ago and when I was doing my initial blade testing (trying out about 50 blades) I found it quite rough and never used one again. Perhaps I had a bad blade or something was off on that shave.

I’ve been recently retesting blades again since the Russian ones are drying up and I don’t want to miss out on any I may like so I’m going to test the Minora again in the next week. It’ll be from the same tuck as the one I tested a couple years ago so I don’t have much faith in it being good. I still may order 100 pack since they don’t cost too much and will hold their value in the future if I still don’t like them. I wouldn’t be surprised if I just got a bad batch as I’ve had that happen with some Nacets I have.
