Just recently, I tried the Nacet for the first time. Put it in my open comb Blackbird and proceeded to get 11 great shaves from that first blade. I could have kept going, but I figured that was more than a good enough “test run”. (I’ve since ordered more Nacets, and am hoping for somewhat similar mileage from the rest of them.)

It's the sharpest (initially) of modern Gillette blades tested so far by this guy:

It would have to be to be able to cut an alligator in half.

Nacet, GSB, Astra, & Gillette 7 Oclock black are my favorites. To my face, Nacet is a smooth and sharp blade, similar to Astra. I give the edge to the 7oclock black and they dont have wax spots if that means anything to you.

they are good blades, very sharp but not as smooth as the gsb, none the less very sharp

The Rubie (Platinum) Plus is quite simply the best Gillette blade made in Russia IMO. For me at least it edges out (no pun intended) the Nacet in smoothness by a.........................wait for it.......hair. The Rubie has what appears to be a better coating/sputtering process that gives the trifecta of smoothness, sharpness & endurance. I think it is the old Platinum Plus with modern technological "tweaks". Just my 2 cents.

Haha, BPman, I enjoyed reading your comment. Smile

Rubies seem to always garner praise. Is there a reputable source that sells them? (I’ll partially answer my own question by stating that Maggard Razors has them, but they are not cheap…)

Thank you, sir.

I bought 200 a few years back from Russia on Ebay after trying a tuck. It takes a month or so depending on Customs. The next time you order from Maggards just remember to buy a tuck or you can:

Another option for bulk is the Swedish website:

BPman, thanks for the links. I had forgotten about Razor Blades Club. (I ordered something from them perhaps a couple of years ago. Good source for certain blades.)

I didn't have good luck with these blades, but only tried them in one razor. I have a few more that I will try in some other razors.
