Hope it is going well for you both. And I hear you on mindset. Some days are better than others, for both of us, and some days one of us is all "woe is me." I try to stay strong to be an anchor, but there are days I just need to be at work to let my hair down! Thankfully, not too many of those, but they happen. My wife deals with a lot of crap, as she say, she just needs a new body, like Steve Austin or his bionic girlfriend whose name escapes me. I think it's just natural to some days wanting to curl in a ball and tell the world to eff off.
The adjustment after this kind of surgery must be daunting, but baby steps right? And the gains! How many folks have told me about no longer needing diabetes, or cholesterol, or even blood pressure meds any more.
keeping you both in my thoughts and prayers, for real, and hope as the trauma from the surgery subsides, the new lease on life will take center stage.
