Noxzema works well for me

Noxzema here as well. Cheap and easy to get. If you lather on top of it, it really will take your lather to the next level as well!

Hi, I found the Edwin Jagger hydrating pre shave lotion works best for me. I like the smell & the feeling of it on my face.

I'm doing a mini test of a few different pre shaves I've been using, and one I have not used much recently.
The three contenders are Mickey Lee Lime pre shave butter, Van Yulay pre shave oil, and Shea Moisture pre shave oil.
I'm using one on each side of my face during the same shave with the intent of comparing results.
Today was ML vs. VY and the result is inconclusive, so I'm doing the same pair on different sides of my face tomorrow. The winner will face off against Shea Moisture for two days.

Phoenix Ice Scentless Preshave soap is my summer preshave of choice. It is wonderfully mentholated so even if you use a soap without menthol you're face will experience a delightful cooling effect. Pair this with PAA Cucumber, Dapper Dragon Watermelon, or Barrister and Mann Rosemary and Peppermint and you are in for a treat!

Proraso Green is my favourite. Myrsol Emulsion is another favourite of mine.

i use proraso green and noxzema classic clean, not all the time though. i put it on after ive had a bath and let it sit while i lather up, then rinse it off before i lather my face. it seems to go against the way most people use a pre, but it works for me.

I make my own preshave as follows:
• 2 parts castor oil
• 1 part olive oil
• 15+ drops essential oil of your choice

Works better than others I have tried. (gives me more money for great shaving creams)

Mine is Proraso Pre-shave. The reason why I like it so much is b/c it adds menthol to all of my shaves. Also adds a layer of protection from any lather/ss for sensitive skin.
