Ever since I picked up an old type i've been on an aaggressive razor kick. Does anyone have any eexperience with a fatip grande?? I was looking into that razor. It seems well made, has some solid rreviews, and the price is rright. I was also thinking that maybe i ccould pick one up here for even cheaper.

So how does it ccompare to the old ttyp? Are there other rrazors that i ashould look into?

Please note tthat my phone will literally not let mme spell certain words correctly.... I ddon't know wwhat's going on here lmao.

The Fatip razors are quite aggressive and you'll find it more aggressive than your Old Type, in my opinion.

Some more aggressive razors are:
* Joris, same head as the Fatip, but much more expensive.
* Muhle R41
* Ikon Tech
* Barbasol Floating Head
* ATT H1 + H2
* Merkur Progress on 6
* Rotbart

This all subjective, mind you.
Good luck.

Sweet. I was hoping it'd be more aggressive.

Thanks for the recommendations..... I'll do my research. I've heard of some of the razors you've listed but not the others.

I've owned at least three Old Types and six Fatips. My experience with Old Types is that they vary in aggressiveness from razor to razor. Some are mild and smooth, others are rough. I've found the Fatips to be more uniform -- aggressive, yes, but amazingly smooth once you get the hang of the razor. Since you're on an aggressive kick, I would definitely try the Fatip. However, I recommend getting a better handle for it. I especially like the combination of the Fatip head and the Weber Bulldog handle.

Is the handle no good on the fatip?

I haven't used all of these, but this is a very good list.

yes The Fatip Grande is a great razor as long as you don't mind tinkering for 10-20 seconds to align the blade. Now that being said it looks like you are using mechanical keyboard and getting lots of key chatter LOL

Ikon Shave Craft Tech and the PAA open Comb and the 1st iteration of the Muhle R41 are the most aggressive DE razors on the market in my opinion. I would offer this aside. A couple of years ago I got on an aggressive Razor kick and looking back now, it was really quite asinine on my part because I assumed aggressive had to mean a better more efficient shave . I have very dark and thick facial hair that grows reminiscent of Michael J Fox in teen wolf. I still have all of the aforementioned razors, but none of the them can, or ever will be daily drivers. I get a great shave from them but using them beyond two days in a row starts to become a painful endeavor, I honestly believe they remove too much dermis and thus, my face begins to scream at me if I use any of those razors for more than two consecutive days. I still love them, think they are great razors, but I would argue that is a considerable drawback of a too aggressive DE. For the large majority of the population they are too aggressive to be daily driver razors. I have friends with lighter facial hair that I have loaned those razors too and they can't even use them because they are too harsh for their facial hair and skin combination. Sometimes when people get into this hobby they think aggressive means better when really, as time goes on, you learn that notion couldn't be further from the truth. These types of razors will always have a place in my den but I reach for them only about once a week now. Just a personal observation on aggressive razors.

I love the Fatip Grande. Won't win any beauty contests but I like that about it- scrappy and gets the job done.

I also agree with steeleshaves in that I went through a phase were I favored the razors with an aggressive reputation however now focus on those that are efficient.

Nonetheless, the Fatip [I have the nickel] would be a great grab.
