SOTD a while ago

Razor - Boker Pro Barberette Shavette
Blade - Baili Super Stainless Platinum
Brush - Oumo Big Hand, Manchurian 28mm
Soap - ETHOS Grooming Essentials Greenfresh
Post - ETHOS Grooming Essentials Greenfresh

It was the first time I used half blade shavette.

This shavette feels very great. Even though I am a beginner at playing with a half blade shavette, I could have a fine shave but took a long time to finish. So for the last pass, I picked up PRIMO of DOVO and ended up with bbs result.

Lemongrass scent from Greenfresh still smells holy great. I can't stop using this soap and splash.

Marko, right on - magnolia scent is really complex and quite amenable to soaps - right Frank?!

I, sir, only solicit the finest whores.  And that is an exact replica of one of my Dunhill Briarwood Rhodesians

So, we'll put you down as undecided?

Frank - I read the ingredient list of the Beauté Sauvage and the scent notes:

No synthetic fragrance oils or aroma chemicals are used in the 100% Natural Aroma Blend. It contains Organic Essential Oils, Absolutes and Extracts of Immortelle Absolute, Turmeric CO2 Extract, Calabrian Bergamot EO, Japanese Yuzu EO, Cardamom EO, Turmeric EO, Rose Geranium EO, Spikenard EO, Labdanum EO, Ylang Ylang EO, White Champaca EO, East Indian Sandalwood EO.

I have had issues with sandalwood with my allergies and asthma.  I have to ask, how is the sandalwood in this blend?

Hi Mike

Ok so with the Beauté Sauvage Aroma blend I want to be 100% upfront. I added a very tiny amount of East Indian Sandalwood and did so just for the relationship it has to the Indian Culture and of course India does have the largest population of Tigers and even though it's still on the endangered list it's the last on the list of all the subspecies of Tigers and also because most people associate the Tiger with India. Anyway there is so little in this blend it's literally undetectable not only because of the amount used but several of the Essential oils and absolutes are much more aromatic and much stronger than Sandalwood. So I've had my nose on it a lot as you'd probably guess and I don't detect it even remotely. Also even though the White Champaca is second to last on the Aroma Blend list when I finally actually made the Shave Soaps the labels which had already been printed at least a month or so before, while adding the Aroma Blend to the Shave Soap batch both myself and my assistant who BTW has a naturally good nose on her we noticed that along with the Immortelle Absolute which is in at the highest level in the Aroma blend we get the two citruses of Yuzu and Bergamot EO's which give way to the Cardamom and Turmeric CO2 Extract and also not on the list ( because the labels where already made ) I added a little Pink Peppercorn so that adds a little spice note to the scent. What really comes to the top and it's mostly because after smelling the blend in the soap and noticing the White Champaca making it's way up the aroma scale I said the heck with it and added even more so if I had to make the list again on a label it would be more like halfway up the list. It is the floral in the blend that comes out nicely and it has turned into my favorite note within the blend. So you should have not even one iota of a concern about the Sandalwood as it's really non - existent in the aroma blend as far as getting any whiff of it. In fact I've never added any EO at such a low level before in one of my aroma blends. Anyone that says they smell Sandalwood loud and clear in this blend would have to be someone who has no idea what real Sandalwood smells like or they are imagining they smell it cause it's on the list. LOL

Hope that helps ease your mind my friend.

Kind regards

Frank

Love the scent from this duo.  I bought the soap without the SFS and once I had my first shave, I knew I needed to correct that mistake.  The scent from this pair reminds me of a warm spring day with that fizzy lemon/lime scent.

That’s a great looking SOTD photo and I’m hopping we see some nice warm spring days here soon in NYS.

Enjoy your Sunday my friend!

Hello DFS

I don’t know where to start but I’ll make this short and simple.  Last night I just pulled out of the parking lot from a day of work at my warehouse and I wasn’t on the road for more than two minutes when I got a call from my cousin who lives in the same Condo development that I do and he says cuz your condo is on fire.  I’m in front of it and there are flames and massive amounts of smoke coming out of the windows especially in what I think is your bedroom. I was at that moment about 30 minutes away from home so I sped up but was in 5 O’ Clock traffic. Of course all kinds of things were going through my head know my life was in there. I knew it must be bad when they had the parking lot block so I parked on the street and ran  as I approached I saw about 6 fire trucks and a few police cars. That’s when it sunk in that it was real and not looking good. That was confirmed when I finally made it to where my unit is and saw all the smoke coming out of the windows.

The damage is extensive as I was informed after I waited 4 hours before the fire inspector gave me any sort of clear information about the fire and smoke damage.

I had old work clothes on and nothing much else with me so long story short I had to go to a couple of stores buy some essentials and I’m in a hotel. I’m hoping to get more information between today and tomorrow about being able to go in to see the damage  I’m trying to figure where I’ll be going as I doubt I’ll be back in my condo anytime soon. I’m still trying to wrap my head around this whole situation and what’s next.

I know this is a shaving forum and my personal situation is not relative but I’m probably not going to be at work for a day or two so if anyone has an order please be patient. I need a couple days to figure out things and most of all to figure where I’m going to be staying.
I plan on going in to work by no later than Thursday or Friday and get things back in motion.

Sometimes life gives you some challenging times and I’m pretty sure this is going to be one of them but I’ll get through it and the most important thing is no one in the building was injured.

All the best

Frank
