ETHOS Grooming Essentials A New Line

Fantastic shave today with Tortola. Tortola has become one of my favorite scents from Ethos. I think I might actually be a Bay Rum guy. Something I was less certain about prior to Tortola.

What drew me in to Tortola was the more "tropical" play on Bay Rum with a medley of pineapple, citrus and coconut notes layered on top of a more traditional Bay Rum base. The resulting scent is playful but sophisticated, and could easily be at home on a sunny day in Tortola, at least from my memories of visiting there. And as the sun sets, Tortola would be equally welcome over a casual evening, filled with the gentle embrace of an ocean breeze.

Looking forward to Frank's future plays on traditional Bay Rum.

Really looking forward for the next round of Tortola in the 4.5oz jars to be released. I was won over by the SFS.

Thanks guys and the 4.5 oz Tortola shave soaps and other post shave products in the scent are all out to the vendors and in fact they all have their orders and we are just waiting on The Shave Supply who is in CA so he gets his on Friday so we are looking at the 20th to release all the new Bay Rum products in both the traditional and the Tortola.

rocket I know what you mean.. if someone would have told me like 4 years ago that I would be a Bay Rum lover I would have said “ no way back then “ it was andrewjs18 and Marko that got me started and now I’m hooked. I’ve got ideas already on a couple different takes on the traditional Bay Rum I’m going to make this spring/summer.

UPDATE: 

These are ready to go. I’m finishing up all the post shave and skincare products this week and early next week so it looks like I’m on schedule to release all the Beauté Sauvage products on the 21st. Pre orders on the 7.5 oz are open and I’ve gotten some already. BTW no deposit is necessary just an email request to put one aside for you is all it takes. 

So what’s really interesting about the scent is when we were making the Aroma blend and I added the White Champaca EO and because of the expense of the EO it was and is the last to go in and was supposed to be at the lowest percentage of alll the aromatic ingredients. Well my assistant who happens to have an excellent nose came right over and asked what is that? I gave here a little info on all the different color Champaca EO’s and absolutes. There are 4. The white, yellow orange and the red. The Red Champaca absolute is I believe number 4 on the list of the 10 most expensive aroma ingredients in the world and just for comparisons Mysore is number 10 on the list. Mind you the list does not include vintage Mysore or Oud which is the most expensive aromatic in the world.  So as I mentioned I was able to obtain a good amount of the White Champaca EO from one of the vendors I use and it was part of a good sized order so he and I bargained over price and I talked him into given me a decent sized discount on the White Champaca. How does this play out. Well going back to when I added it to the Aroma Blend and the response I got from my assistant I decided that I was going to add a decent amount more to the blend for two reasons. One most folks have never had their noses on any of the Champaca’s I mentioned because of the high price of them and honestly I’ve only seen it used in very high priced artisanal Perfumes and men’s EDP’s and Attars. So I thought let’s put enough in so that my customers can get a whiff of this EO. Well after the soap cured I was extremely happy it came up to the surface more than I expected and for those that get this limited release you’ll get a opportunity to get an idea of what a Champaca smells like. FYI I have in my collection a very small amount of the Red and Yellow Absolutes and I made one 15 ml EDP spray using the Red and a vintage Mysore for a customer of mine as it’s a tradition in India to blend the two together.  It smelled amazing! 

So I hope you enjoy the Aroma blend. It has some woodyness, a little spiciness, a bit of citrus and now it has a noticeable note of the white Chimpaca. Overall I’d describe as a clean smooth scent that can be worn all year.

I have some in inventory but nothing new. If you want a specific one I can easily make one as long as you don’t mind not having a label on it. I’m in the process of changing my shampoo and conditioner packaging so I think all I got left in stock is Colonia, Dragonesbeard and Endless Summer and maybe 1 of the Pepermint and Greenfresh. I can confirm as I’m on my way to the warehouse now. Had to have service done on my SUV

Like I said I can make one in the scent you want unless it’s something I’m totally out of. Shoot me a pm or email .
