Hi Matt
To start nice photos!
So as far as scent strength I may have been able to increase the percentage a little bit without it having an effect on the performance ( to much oil ) but only by a little bit which I’ll do on the next batch. Here’s the problem with the Flower note. Unless I use a Aroma Chemical that is a Violet Flower accord using the real thing would be price prohibitive. I’m including a photo of one of only 2 suppliers that I’m aware of that carry real Violet Flower extract. The 10 ml in a 18 lbs batch wouldn’t do a thing to change the Aroma that is the current one. It would take at least 2 oz so if you do the math you’ll see that would really effect the selling price a lot. I added flowers and leaves to my homemade infusion. Maybe next batch next year I can only use the flowers and see if I can capture the scent or if there’s such a thing as dried Violet flower I could start an infusion in the fall and let it go all winter.. I’d have to search to see if their available. Everyone wanted a natural starlight Violet so I did my best to give them that and not use any synthetics and also keep the price somewhat reasonable.
I can send you a vial of the Aroma Blend for more strength if you’d like my friend.
So here’s the photo of the price for just 10 ml or 1/3rd of an oz of the Violet Flower Extract so that’s about $140 US dollars for the 10ml so for one oz that’s $420! An I’d need at least 2 oz. Keeping things 100% natural sometimes doesn’t come inexpensively.
Here is the price for 15 ml of an Aroma Chemical from a professional Aroma supplier in the US.
Violet - Key Accord
Fragrance Family: Floral
Odor Description: Violet, Sweet, Floral, Powdery
This Accord was developed in-house, and is meant to capture the floral sweetness of freshly picket Violet florets. We tried to blend the familiar aroma of the freshly bloomed flower, in conjunction with the sweet powdery nuances found in candied violets.
15ml
$4.50 (USD)
I can easily add this accord to the Aroma Blend if you guys want me to on he next batch and I’ll order some and test it out in the Splash and I can send out some samples for feedback.
My job is to please my customers and keep up my standards. In this case I’d make it exactly like I did this time only add a little more of the natural Aroma blend which would also include the right amount of the Violet Key Accord. I just wouldn’t want it to smell real synthetic as I’m getting less and less tolerant of strong synthetic scents. I much prefer what nature gives us naturally. Maybe I’m getting to old and set in my ways!
Hey everyone enjoy your Sunday!
