If you are only going with two, which makes sense considering both the S-base and TSC are creams, why not keep the moniker S-base instead? It is more fitting alongside F-base, imo. If you make a vegan version as a one off, you can note that separately: 'Vegan S-Base', 'Vegan F-Base'.

Of course, renaming the F-base is tempting... DFS for "Damn Firm Soap". Lol.

To me, it makes sense to drop the S Base. I'd give your Tallow Shave Cream base a new name, TC Base, so it's in line with your naming convention. I wouldn't go with TSC Base because Tractor Supply Company has trademarked TSC.

In general I tend to prefer hard soaps to croaps to creams. I could flip a coin between your F base and Tallow shave cream....which I consider more of a "croap". I like the performance of both and have no problem lathering either.
As I gather it, your shave creams are more "scent friendly" when it comes to some of the more "fragile" scent components due to less heat being necessary during the manufacturing process,  while harder soaps generally require less soap to get a good lather and are therefore more economical for the user.
I've never used your "S" formulation. I don't have any problems face or bowl lathering with your "F" formula or other hard soaps either from the puck or pressing a bit into a bowl.
With the vegan creme,  it's not something I consider. I'm not vegan so have no concerns about using tallow based soaps.
In fact I have been surprised at how many vegan formulations have entered the market over the past few years. I would have never thought there would be that much demand for them.

Just checked and I currently have eight of your soaps (finished the Vanilla Safi last month). There are four "S", one "VC" and three "F" in the drawer. Given a choice, I prefer the softer products. Eliminating the "S" and simplifying to only a "TC" and an "F" base would be fine with me. With most of us already owning more soap than we will use in the next three years, choosing between a firm base and a cream based is going to be based on lathering preference not economy, so having the two choices is important.

So on the side labels on the Tallow Shave Creme it is marked as TC so we are good there. No infringements. I just write Tallow Shave Creme when I'm writing about the product just to let new customers know that there's a Tallow Shave Creme out there that's ETHOS offers.

I'm with you I'm not a vegan.. tried that back in the day and lasted a little over a year and gave up on Thanksgiving day as I could not even think of eating a Soybean Turkey which is what some of my friends at the time were serving so I said goodbye, enjoy the meal, I'm heading to my families house where the real good food was.. that was it for me. LOL
I feel I should have at least one Vegan formula offered to those that prefer no animal ingredients. If I'm going to invest in multiple scents in a Vegan base it's going to definitely be in the future as I have my hands full trying to get my regular products out there.

F base only... for most, superior. Not sure I understand why you bother with the S base. Is it better? Is it for diverse ingredients that are requested. Could do it on a request basis. I don't like the multi-base issue - confounding for artisan most consumers. I gave up trying to keep up with A&E and GD base name changes & upgrades. Keep it simple. Offer the best base you can for the masses. And have other options per request I guess? The old B&M base revisions were onerous as well. Maybe I am not sophisticated. Right Bluegrass? Is it my DNA deficiencies per my family tree?

Hello my friend 

So that’s the whole idea is to simplify things for multiple reasons. Like I mentioned based on sales it’s probably 90% F Base to 10% S Base.  Having a Tallow Shave Creme I think also is a better option than having 2 Shave Soap bases. I know just from input I get from customers there are quite a few people that like shave creams so I wanted to provide then with what they want. As far as the F Base it’s pretty simple, It has one name. F Base. It has evolved as its had 2 improvements so far since it first came out but it’s still called F Base. So what I’m looking at is having just I Shave soap base  and a Shave Creme. Like I mentioned Tibu Saboni is it’s own base not like any other I’ve made and it’s one product that’s for people that have skin issues. As technology advances so it does too.

I said it shortly after starting ETHOS that  I didn’t want to have a bunch of base names. So bottom line I’m with you on that.

I'm fine with F Base and Tallow Creme. 

As a broad generalization, I expect better performance and longevity from hard soaps, but creams can perform quite well enough, and sometimes I like a cream-based scent indulgence.  What I don't like so much is the inbetween, croap-like products.  Better for the product to be hard enough to lather off the puck or soft enough to spread easily over the face or in a bowl.
