ETHOS Grooming Essentials A New Line

So I treated myself to a bunch of post shave products that I’ve been itching to try. I had tried my first alcohol aftershave splash from Frank with the Dragonsbeard and I would say it’s probably tied for my second favorite feeling aftershave formula. So I decided to pick up splashes of Fresco, the Lost Souls and Vetivert. Frank sent me a sample of Vetivert early this year and damn, what a surprise! Really nice citrus scent that I wouldn’t have considered if not for the AS sample.

Not in love like I was hoping with the Lost Souls scent. There’s a lot in the scent that I really like and have done similar blends myself with these but I think the hiccup for me is the peppermint, ylang ylang and tea tree. I think if these weren’t in the mix, I’d be all over this scent.

I also snagged another a serum but this time wanted to try a different formula. So I snagged the normal skin formula and a bottle of the hyaluronic acid serum. Used some of that hyaluronic acid yesterday for the first time and it felt nice on the skin.

Looking forward to receiving the tonka bean release.I have high expectations of liking the scent.

The only products I use every shave are the serum and HA post shave. Have to say my skin ain't too bad for an old man and it is due to Frank's product. Dan Law clued me in 2 years ago. I think i am on my third bottle of each now. I squirt the serum & HA in my hand with a bit of his AFS and now my favorite part of my shave routine.

On the Serums. I have a new version of the Hyaluronic acid serum coming out next month so message me on that. Also have a few other new specialized serums, lotions and creams I’ve been working on.

I could see maybe loosing the Ylang Ylang and Tea tree as there wasn’t much of that in there but the only thing I could do for the cooling part of that scent would be to use just a green mint or a synthetic cooling agent. I’ve got a while to play with it as I’m going release that again in the Fall.

So it was brought to my attention that Sir Henerys  has done a great job of duplicating the AOS and Fine Sandalwood scent and I absolutely congratulate them on the accomplishment.

As some know I was working on the same thing and was going to make the Shave Soap and matching Skin Food Splash,  Lotion and the EDP.  In fact today I was working on the grid for the labels so we could order them.  I pushed this project back a bit so I could make the Tribute to ShaveMD Shave Soap and Skin Food Splash first and that’s happening on Monday. I was planning on making the Sandalo Artistico on Wednesday so by the time the Soap is ready the labels will be here.

  So since .I have not ordered the labels and the products not made I’m thinking I may switch directions with the Aroma Blend and instead of doing a blend that showcases the Sandalwood but has notes of Eucalyptus, Myrrth, Patchouli, Fir Needle and a few others it’s not a straight Sandalwood.

My thoughts are go for a different Sandalwood Aroma blend that’s not going in  the AOS direction. Being a huge fan of Sandalwood and having a quite extensive collocation of many varieties of different Sandalwoods along with 3 very rare vintage Mysore I’m always playing with different blends so it would not be difficult to put together a new Aroma Blend, fill in the grid with the new Aroma Blend ingredients, Order the labels, make the products.

Frank, I have emptied no less than 5 bottles of your Mysore Sandalwood afs. It has become a favorite [and 1  bottle  of the edt is almost gone].  My selfish idea would be  any shave soap that approaches this  fragrance profile with  your aftershave would be great. Your AOS  sample from February's pass around was more of a classic S'Wood - The AOS /FINE utilized synthetic components - and is/was more 'cologne like'. And I think probably the synthetic component may be  necessary to pay proper homage to that scent.  Dan Law appropriately mentioned this use of synthetics would conflict & diverge with your business model.

So a natural  Ethos S'Wood  would be a win - win for the shave world.... Natural Ethos product, and matches that magic AFS  juice I have been bathing in.

Yes, Another S'Wood soap  in your base and a good fit with your AFS / EDT.  My hope at least!

After our extended talk today and some thinking about things I’m going to go with your suggestion and try and get as close to the Mysore Santal Skin Food Splash and EDT scent than go after the Fine Scent.  The trick will be trying to accomplish that without a extra heavy price tag as a pure Mysore Sandalwood shave soap would be $100’s not only based on the price but the amount you’d have to use to get any scent strength. A Tallow Shave Creme would help price wise a bit but still a 100% pure Mysore Sandalwood would still exceed the Vanilla Safi by a good margin price wise. 

The good news is I have an idea on how I can accomplish a very good Sandalo and have it priced reasonably. Plus I really need a Sandalwood shave soap in my line up as a regular other than the custom options. 

So thank you for making some very good points in our conversation today and giving me some good suggestions. You really helped me make my final decision.

Today was a day of Customs and I’ll post up some others tomorrow but this is a Custom Skin Food Splash that’s pure Damask Rose Absolute.  It smells amazing if your a Rose fan which I’m very quickly becoming. Used some Rose Floral water in the Formula which adds sone nice skin benefits.  
An like a dummy I thought to myself afterwards why didn’t I make myself one! 

Won’t mention customers name as he may want his privacy but if he wants to chime in that would be great but it’s on its way buddy with your other items and the other custom Skin Food Splash.

Thanks Frank. I am proudly the Rose nut. I haven't found a good post rose splash for my weekly Thu°Rose°Day. Sounds like I have my routine cinched down now. Big thanks - and look forward to rolling the Honeysuckle custom out again this summer!
