Ok I need the opinions of some of the members on here. I have to make a big decision soon so all input would be very much appreciated.
So it was brought to my attention by one of my vendors that the body shaving bars shouldn’t be in a box. He said wet shavers will buy a refill pick of soap and put it in their empty jar but he doesn’t feel that a shaving soap in a box has a lot of appeal to most of his wet shaving customers. He understands this was developed originally for women’s shaving needs mostly along with men who body shave. He also understands that the shave soap works great on the face and head as well and he said all the more reason to get rid of the box. He’s saying not many people want their Shave soap sitting in a soap dish or shower rack like a bath soap. The more I thought about it the more it made sense even though I had made a commitment to the whole idea. He said why do you just put it in a less expensive jar than your regular shave soap is in to help keep the cost down. Of course the first thing I thought about was that but putting it in a jar where you need a brush to load it from almost completely eliminates the women's shavers. I did a bit of a test poll in my area in spas and salons and women where 50% bar soap users and 50% shave cream users. So I do plan to bring out my Vegan Creme for them in an actual tube I wanted to lead out with a real shave soap ( not bath soap ) for them. An the testers really liked it but as my vendor said your testers were a group you knew and your still eliminating the male customers. He said Frank this is a unisex product let’s face it but it’s not in the right package to attract both men and women.
So here’s what I came up with and tell me what you guys think taking all I’ve mentioned into consideration.
I’m thinking a Shave Stick. And here’s the pros I came up with.
1. So no messy bar of soap in the shower
2. Easy to use for women as they just have to rub it around the area they want to shave and work it in with their hands or a brush which I’ll work on as far as educating them on. I may come out with a Her Shave brush for the Collection that’s egomaniacally good for a women’s needs as I’ve been in talks with a brush maker. An men will use their brushes anyway.
3. It will be equally easy for a man body or head & face shaver to use.
4. It would be a nice for travel.
So below is the shave stick I’ll use only in the larger size. It’s the same as the roll up I use for my First Lather Slickness enhancer/ Lather Booster
So what do you guys think.
Stay with the box below or move to a stick?
