I have exchanged messages with Dragonsbeard and given I own and am very familiar with the Valobra sandalwood soap and AOS sandalwood balm he thought it would be ok to add myself to provide some feedback. I can't seem to figure out how this special link works, but I added myself to the list below after MilkCrate who appears to be the last name on the list... if I did anything incorrectly, please let me know. Thanks

So TommyCarioca is completed his evaluation of the AOS/Fine Sandalwood Aroma blend I put in a vegan shave Creme and he’s ready to ship it to the next person on the pass around list. HighSpeed . So could you two get together on shipping addresses. I’ll send him a pm to back this post up.

Best regards
For those who are farther down the list than me, Tommy is sending the soap out to me tomorrow, and Frank is in the loop.

UPDATE:

So I’ve been working on this behinds the scenes and we just finished the label design and I’m happy with what Monica and I came up with. So this new release begins the journey into the Rainforest Collection and it starts with a F Base Shave soap that got a 100% Pure Tonka Bean aroma blend made up of Tonka Bean Butter, my own Tonka Bean infusion I made myself from whole Tonka Beans I got from Venezuela and Venezuelan Tonka Bean Absolute. My F Base is only about a week away from being cured to where I want it and I’ll be releasing this amongst some other releases in the F Base and one in the new S Base and of course the Italian Blood Orange in the new Tallow Shave Creme base. Im very excited about this one as Im personally a big fan of Tonka Bean and I wanted to keep this just that with no other aroma ingredients in it. Sometimes simple is a good thing. So Im thinking this release will be on my website and at my vendors safely in about 2 weeks. It will come in both the 4.5 oz and the 7.5 oz size which will only be available on my website like always. This will be available also in an EDP and a Non - Alcohol Skin Food Lotion which might take a week behind the soap and splash release. We’ll see.

Hope you guys like the label.

Mate, I don’t know that much about your business or much about high end software (I’m a MWF sort of chap), but it sure as heck looks like you are trying hard to copy everything that Sebum guy is doing. So much copying and credit taking going on in wetshaving, would be nice to see some original ideas and this sure doesn’t look like one.

I’ll respond to your accusation that I’m copying Sebum with this Mate.

First off no soap maker holds an exclusive on any fragrance oil, aroma blend or essential oil etc..

The reason I decided to do a authentic Tonka Bean Shave soap was for two reasons. One is that it was requested by a few of my customers the past few months to make one.  An secondary because I happen to like it myself and have wanted to use my Tonka Beans for a while.

Also if I’m not mistaken I was the very first soap maker to have ever make a 100% Pure Vanilla Soap which BTW took over 8 months of infusion on my part. An if I’m not mistaking didn’t Sebum just come out with a Vanilla shave soap and serum long after I did?

What Sebum or any other soap maker has absolutely no influence on what I do. As I’ve stated before I stay in my own lane and do my own thing. Also I price my products according to what’s in them. It’s called realistic pricing! I’ve also been using naturals over 28 years as a product developer.  Probably long before there ever was a Sebum soap company if that’s the company your saying I’m copying.

Also will say pretty disrespectful to come into this thread and accuse me of copying anyone when you have no knowledge of what motivates my creativity or business decisions.

So where you came up with this statement I don’t know but your way off base mate!

TrumptUp hey dummy, homages to scents are a normal part soap making. Here’s a nice list of examples assuming you know how to read.

Really tempted to stay out of this BUT hate seeing a guy get the business even if he has opportunities for improvement.

Fact of the matter is that this has nothing to do with Sebum in any way as ETHOS is magnitudes less expensive than Sebum in any product one might want to compare - they really aren't competitors for the same market to my perspective. Sebum is targeted at the market of guys proud to have paid outrageous amounts of money.  That market does exist as anybody having been involved with Lamborghini, Ferrari or Ducati can tell you - there a lot of guys buying things so people know they can afford to spend that kind of money even if they derive no incremental benefit.  In the case of Lamborghini, Ferrari and Ducati solely because the overwhelming majority of buyers have no driving/rider skill even if competing in such series as Challenge and Tropheo - not ALL BUT overwhelmingly nearly all.  Hell Asians in particular seem to take great pride in overpaying as a cultural badge of honour (beloved Dad was Asian so no racism in that).

Having perhaps the singularly worst skin of anybody encountered online, can flatly state NOTHING has worked better re shaving products - that just a fact; between a relationship with the single most experienced soap expert online and having since handled a massive PIF for those in dire straits, have tried all the soaps mentioned on various fora.  The EOS complex - whatever in the Hell it is - makes a marked difference to my skin; empirically know this as Frank has conducted blind trials with every successful outcome coming down to EOS and 1 other ingredient that won't be mentioned but is identified on the labels explicitly.

Finally, regarding scent: it is quite the hurdle to suggest any house copying other houses is less than honourable as they all do it - from Creed to Roja to Skin Bracer - there really is very very little truly unique under the Sun regarding scent AND when Frank has explicitly copied, it is because customers have affirmatively requested he mimic a scent out of production or available in an inferiour inexpensively priced base.  Is it creative - NO but is it dishonourable - think not.

That is my take on those particular aspects of the ETHOS business model, not that it any of my damned business, same could be stated of my perspectives on Sebum, Lamborghini, Ferrari or Ducati for that matter.
