UPDATE:

So I need a few suggestions or opinions on an upcoming release.  It’s a project and a new Collection I’ve been working on behind the scenes for a few months. This brand new Collection name is  “ Endangered Species  “  and it’s all about exactly helping out these animals as I’ll be contributing a good amount of the proceeds to the World Wildlife Foundation on this first release and will follow up with more releases down the road. In fact the Spring and Summer release’s are already planned and in one case the labels are already designed. I have been in support of a very good friend/ old girlfriend of mine who’s a wildlife photographer who travels all over the world not only photographing these endangered animals but working with them and organizations along with groups that are trying to help save these gifts of nature.

This first release will also involve a contest on social media that I will go into more detail when this is closer to the release date.

So after talking with my friend who had just returned from Alaska and told me what she saw I decided to go with this endangered species first and being winter it seemed more appropriate than the one I was going to do first which is now scheduled for spring. The animal I’m talking about is the Polar Bear.  My friend decided how many of them looked like starving dogs! Because of the ice flows melting they are in many parts of the attic circle not able to get to the seals which make up a huge percentage of their diet. As many may know the Polar Bear is the only Bear that is completely carnivorous where other bears like the brown and black bears are omnivores meaning they eat plats and meat.  She also informed me that many Polar Bears because of this situation are going into areas where more people live which has caused problems for not only the people but the bears. There’s also been some Polar Bears that have bread with Grizzly Bears which worries a lot of people as to what kind of Bear will emerge from this.
Anyway there will be more information about this on the website so I’ll get back to the point of this post. So everything is pretty much ready to go and this release can happen in as little as 2 to 3 weeks if I can make the final and important decision on what aroma blend to put in this release. Their is the more obvious choice of just make this an Ice Cold blend similar to let’s say Terror by B&M for example or a straight Peppermint, Menthol Crystals and Eucalyptus blend but because of my experiences along with some of the input I got from a couple of my soap making friends Ice Cold Soaps are not top sellers and I want to try and raise as much money as possible for the cause. So because I changed the schedule to move the Polar Bear to the first release in this Collection I think I could use some member input and suggestions.  I’ll list a couple of general ideas I’ve had for the Aroma blend below.

1. An Ice cold blend
2. A by the sea scent with a sea salt, seaweed type of scent.
3. Since there are very few trees on the ice covered frozen tundra which only sees lichens mosses during the short summers ( Permafrost) and a few small dwarf shrubs and what they call small patch forests where you’ll find Birch, Willow, Juniper and some Alder but these are generally a little farther south on the tundra. Below that is the Borrell Forests where trees like Spruce, Balsam Fir, Pine and Tamarack are the main species. So I could go with a combo of these influences.. only concern would it be very close to the Lost Souls? Not sure.

So at this point that’s all I’ve got and I’m leaning towards number 2.  Only problem is I’d love to use some Seaweed Absolute but it’s number 7 on the top 10 most expensive essential oils list at around $650 an oz I have a small sample vial of it and it’s awesome but not financially possible to make a Shave soap or even a Skin Food Splash or Lotion that be remotely reasonably priced. I did find an ordered a couple of seaweed accords so we’ll see how close they are to the real EO.

So below is the label for the new Shave Soap and I think Monica did a great job taking a stock photo and putting her touch on it.

Also to the winner of the contest they will get not only a set of the Shave Soap and their choice of the matching Skin Food Splash or Non - Alcohol Skin Food Lotion but they get the Polar Bear adoption kit you see below which includes everything you see in the photo.

Thank you as always and as one member who recently pm’d me said he feels like this is almost a family in this Shave Soaps & Creams section and I definitely agree with him.

Wish you would also consider a NON MENTHOLATED/NONCOOLING but STRONGLY SCENTED sea salt/ocean vibe Soap and Skin Food  (VERY few scents with ocean vibe have ANY legs)  - call it 'Save the Whales and Dolphins'.  Love sea scent but nothing artificially chilling.

So it was brought to my attention by two members that said that my post was very long and that the fact that I had posted to please quote that long post every time a member wanted to make a suggestion was taking up to much page space so I deleted that part of the post so if anyone wants to give their input you can just reference post #2415 that’s fine.

I have some ideas on this scent and I’ve had a couple of members text me with their opinions on a potential scent.

I’ll just post a photo of the labels and ask for suggestions in this post. So sorry about the extremely long post. Oh and also this release will not effect the new product that are on the schedule for release.

Great shaves all
