ETHOS Grooming Essentials A New Line

Ok so I made a custom order for two of my customers of this aroma blend. It’s pretty simple. Lemon, Lime & Ginger EO’ and a little effervescent accord I came across that really does give a Ginger Ale vibe to it. Really Fresh and Clean and I’m definitely making this as a roll out in the spring for sure.  So I have two 4.75 oz Shave Cremes with the Personal Blend White labels on them.  If anyone is interested please let me know. Oh and I made one for myself as I’m a little obsessed with this scent and also in the Skin Food Splash.

New Collection and new product! 

Well I've been working on this project behind the scenes and some of my shaving friends and vendors have encouraged me to go through with it and bring it to the wet shaving community as well as my existing Vendors, Brick & Mortar stores, Salons and Spas. Etc.

The product is a " Body Shaving Soap " and it was inspired by an idea I've had for well over a year now on a brand new collection and targeting a new market as well.  As I think it's time. The new Collection is called the " Her Shave Collection " and that's right it's for women shavers. Well at least it started out that way and I'll explain. So working in the Salon and Spa industry for over 30 years ( as some may know I have a Hair Care Line that has noting to do with ETHOS Grooming Essentials ) and also being a hobbyist wet shaver for almost 20 years I've asked ladies along the way that I've worked with or are customers of mine, what do you use to shave your legs and other areas of your body with and the answer was pretty much the same each time. Either OTC mass market Shave Cream or just bath soap like Dove for example so about a year and a half ago after getting ETHOS started the idea hit me why not bring better shaving products to the women. So without writing a novel here I've made the first and 2nd steps to do this and there will be other products to follow down the road. I made both a Body Shave Soap and a different version of the Shave Creme that I made for the Men.. ( It's a little bit less viscous as it is going in a tube )  shave cream for both types of users and I made prototypes and testers and handed them out to a bunch of ladies that I come in contact with all the time that work in Salons and Spas who were more than willing to try these products. Also in my discussions with them a lot seemed to complain about some of the OTC products they were using and were actually excited about trying out the two new shave products. They also liked the name of the Collection as it was simple and to the point. All the feedback I've been getting has been very positive to say the least and again it's a 50/50 split in my poll as far as who likes using the Creme and who likes using the Body Bar Shave Soap. It seems like those that want a super fast shave like the Bar Soap and the ones that don't mind taking a little bit more time leaned more towards the Shave Creme. Some mentioned they'd use both after I explained about how a lot of men really look forward to a nice relaxing shave and how it can be kind of like a mini Spa Experience and I also mentioned how a lot of men wet shavers like myself will do very quick in the shower shaves when I'm in a hurry and then there are days especially on the weekends where I'll take my sweet time and enjoy a long drawn out shave where sometimes I use my Scuttle for a hot shave ( Winter only ) or sometimes I use an entire Collection like I did this past Summer when it was really freaking hot out using all the Greenfresh products starting with Shampoo/Body Wash, Bar Soap, Shave soap, Skin Food Splash and then finishing off the shave with the EDP. A complete cool and refreshing experience. I gave them other scenarios as well that I'm sure a lot of you are familiar with and are part of your daily or weekly shaving rituals. 


Moving on, after making the decision to make the women's products it struck me that there are many men who also practice what some call " Manscaping " so I thought ok since I'm making it why not have a cross over product. Well one thing led to another and I sent out the first prototype out to some male customers for their evaluation and feedback and I want to be clear these were not the final formula without some of the bells and whistle skin care ingredients I normally use in my regular shave soaps and cremes. The feedback I got was not only good but some guys ventured out as I told them about some of my own personal experiences using the Body Shave Soap bar and how just for the heck of it when I used it on my face. Well that has been a awaking experience as I've been getting some really good feedback on that. I've made it very clear this is not what this soap was intended for but I have to say it exceeded my expectations as far as face shaving. So I made the decision to put in a new category on my website and it will be called " Body Shave Soap" and Body Shave Creme. Some products will be exclusive to the " Her Shave Collection and some will be for both genders and I'll explain. Ok so for a few examples. So why make Peppermint exclusive to either Ladies or Gents as the natural EO works for both ( in fact that was the prototype scent ) Greenfresh also works for both, Now with the Lavender ladies seem to like a sweeter Lavender Flower scent more so than the men and so I made two different ones and as you can see by the labels one will go in the already existing  Lisse Collection and uses the Lavender Supreme Lavender that you are all accustomed to and the other will have a different label and scent and be in the Her Shave Collection. I just made a Mandarin & Sweet Orange EO blend Shave soap bar and it's for both male and female. So there will be a tab in the side bar on my website under Shave Soap + and under it will be the S Base, F Base and the Body Shave Soap. Then another that will Say Shave Creme + and under it will be the Vegan Creme, and the Soon to be Tallow Shave Creme and the Body Shave Creme. This way it will be easier for my customers to navigate through the website.

Bottom line still a few things to work out but right after the Holidays some of these will be up on the site and I'm sure at my vendors. 

I will continue to add some information and especially how to use it to get the maximum performance out of it. One thing I can share is it really likes Synthetic brushes and one tester who a Head Shaver said its so easy to use, Just rub it all over the head, take a shaken out brush and build the lather which he said is almost instant. 

Size and price. The Body Bar Shave soaps are a round hard puck that come in a plain white box with a label on it similar to my bath bars but in a square box instead of a rectangle as the bath bars do. Also the labels say they  are a 4 oz puck but honestly most weight in at between 4.25 to 4.40 oz. Normal scents will be under $20.00 and I'll announce the final price before the release. Below you'll see some examples of some labels. Some are the same and they are gender neutral like I mentioned and some are for the Her Shave Collection. 

I wish some of these would be ready for the Holidays as I've had some customers who wanted to get them for their wife's but unfortunately my graphic designers Mom passed away two days ago and I"m not going to push her to finish up the labels and get them to the printers. also some of the labels you see are not 100% finished but I thought it would be fun to get a look at some that are almost ready for print. So very early 2022 the first ones will show up on the website and at my vendors.

Yes I’ve had a bunch of ladies test  both the Body Shaving Creme and the Body Shave Soap with just rubbing it in with their hands and it works great but I will say that I gave some of the testers large knot synthetic brushes to try and they loved the lather that they got. So I’m working on making a special inexpensive shave brush that’s Ergonomically user friendly for a women that will have a large 32” knot. I got a post shave product I’m working on so I will offer a Set for all 3 to encourage them to try new things in shaving.. kinda like where we were all at 20 years ago with our cartridges and shave foaming cream or gel in a can.lol

Label says Lavender Supreme as it's not finished and it needs to say Sweet Lavender or something like that. Just wanted to show the difference between what the Body shave soap label will look like in the Her Shave Collection and the regular Body Shave Lavender Supreme looks like.

Yes I’ve had a bunch of ladies test  both the Body Shaving Creme and the Body Shave Soap with just rubbing it in with their hands and it works great but I will say that I gave some of the testers large knot synthetic brushes to try and they loved the lather that they got. So I’m working on making a special inexpensive shave brush that’s Ergonomically user friendly for a women that will have a large 32” knot. I got a post shave product I’m working on so I will offer a Set for all 3 to encourage them to try new things in shaving.. kinda like where we were all at 20 years ago with our cartridges and shave foaming cream or gel in a can.lol

Hello all I wanted to post up some updates as I’ve gotten quite a few email messages about two products and I also want to announce a change to one of the existing ETHOS products. 

First off I’ve gotten a lot of messages on the Tibu Saboni Shave Creme and I apologize that it sold out so quickly not only on my website but at my vendors as well. When I launched it I honestly wasn’t sure how the wet shaving community would respond so I made what I call a small/Medium sized batch and I was actually surprised at how fast it went an according to my Shopify report it was 2nd to Dragonsbeard as far as the most in demand ETHOS product.  So I’ll be making another larger batch the week between Christmas and New Years. 



I thought I could get the Mandarino Fumo out before the Holidays but I’ve been really busy the last 2 months and it just didn’t happen but I wanted to let those that have been messaging me about this release that I’m targeting the Humidor Collection and this Shave Soap and some other products with the Aroma blend to be launched shortly after New Years and maybe on the Eve of the 2022. 



Also I’ve been playing with the Replenish Hyaluronic acid serum formula for a few weeks as I knew I could make it even better and I also am going to give all the Serums a new look. So although the new batch is made I’m going to show them as out of stock until the new labels with the new look and new ingredient list is ready.  All I can say is I’m sure you’ll be happy with this super skin beneficial serum once you try it. 

So the look you see below will be changed shortly.

I had my first F base Dragonsbeard shave last night, and I was blown-away.  With hindsight, I overloaded the brush, but fortunately for me, this particular brush was up to the task despite its humble provenance.  The lather was superb, and so was the scent.  At the end of the shave I squeezed gobs of thick, slick lather out of the knot.  --  Well done Frank!
