Quite honestly….this is a very temporary move and will not in any way impact sales. So…go with the least expensive and easiest option. And don’t overthink it…both options are perfectly fine…

Ok when you guys say small lid your taking about the one that shows the threads?  Or are you referring to the existing lower profile brushes aluminum ones I already use?

The tall one is going to present some issues if I were to use them on the 7.5 oz jar as it will add height and that means ordering deeper shipping boxes or using some bigger ones I have that I normally ship my hair products in.

So my question is do I buy into the taller lid to use only on the 7.5 oz size and continue to use them only on that jar as it would surely overpower the lower profile 4oz jar.  The other option was to get the threaded lid which is much easier to get and only use them until my regular lids come in.
Also just so you know the high profile lids are considerably more than the threaded ones. BTW those are what come on the MDC jar which is the exact same jar as my larger size shave soap.

Just wanted to be clear on this.  So when referring to the options it’s either high profile or the threaded lid. My regular lid is not what I’d consider low profile but it’s close in height to a normal HDPE cap that most soap makers use.

So below is the MDC jar so that’s what mine would look like temporarily until my normal lids are in

Same here, but for me the MDC type would be preferable.  I don't want the bulk, and if the soap is cream like, I don't want the extra air inside the container.  Besides, MDC is good company, no? Smile

Ok so I think I’m going to go with the threaded option. It’s less costly and I can order as much or as little as I need.

I like the way my normal lid looks and I’ll be getting a large amount in July so hopefully this situation won’t happen again. Looking at the tall lid it’s just to overpowering and it’s going to present shipping issues.
I’ve got 3 jars of MDC ( a big fan ) and the threaded lid looks good to me and it’s also functional as far as shipping goes.

The supplier just sent me an updated email stating that she has my lid ( same size ) in stock but it’s shinny silver... not a fan of shinny. Shinny razors Yes! Shinny lids on a shave soap nope! Lol

As a last minute comment, would suggest using the shiny variant of your usual satin lids is the optimal solution.

While the superannuated look of the MdC jar works for a classic soap, feel strongly the more modern and elegant shape of a smooth shiny lid much more suits the technical vibe of ETHOS

Curious, did you add a little or a lot of water to the soap?

Awesome lather shot.

Thank you for sharing!

UPDATE:

I wanted to let everyone know that the latest batch of GreenFresh is now up on the site and will be at your vendors soon. The little experiment to make the current base firmer for folks that like to load from the jar worked and this is the firmest batch I’ve made so far in the M base. Not as firm as the upcoming F base but definitely firmer than any other M base shave soap. I didn’t want to change the performance characteristics of the current M base as that may have not gone over well with my customers but I wanted to make it firmer for the customers that really wanted to load from the jar and felt it was a little to soft. I know some of you have been able to load from the jar with gentle swirling of your brush but I didn’t want you to have to be so careful that you’d be afraid of getting way to much soap on your brush if you accidentally used a little to much pressure when loading. So there was an obvious way on how to accomplish getting the base firmer but it would most definitely change the characteristics of the soaps performance so after playing around with some other options I found one that works great. So mission accomplished and I hope you guys enjoy this new adjustment.

Great shaves all.
