Hello Sir
So just to clarify things when the V2 Version of Dragonsbeard comes out which will roughly be in 4 weeks give or take a couple of days as it’s curing now I’m using alone with the Grass fed Beef tallow and duck fat a fat I’ve been curious about and that’s Camel Hump fat. With that said I know folks are going to say new base and in a way that’s very true but the total percentage I use normally between the beef tallow and duck fat will still be the same percentage only there will be 3 fats occupying the total percentage instead of two fats. Same with some of the oils I use. I may change oils in different soaps but the percentage stays the same. I’ve found a base that most folks seem to like so I’m sticking with it at least for now. With that said I am working on 2 other bases that are for very specific shave soaps that will not be available in multiple scents. When the times right I’ll go more deeply into the whats and whys of those 2 bases.
Thank you for the inquire.

Thank you Cory for the enthusiastic and encouraging video. That was very thoughtful of you and a nice surprise for me to find in this thread after being in the labs all day long without my phone ( not allowed ) the EOS Complex is mostly what your feeling as far as the skin benefits. The Milks also add some to.
The skin should feel clean and hydrated not oily and hydrated and as Shavemd mentioned the Shave soap and Skin Food splash can be looked at like a system! I call it weightless hydration.
Also I wouldn’t beat yourself up on the lathering thing I think you did a good job in a short amount of time. Oh and two things.. nice bathroom and Thank you Corey for your service to this country!
Oh and a good place to state I give a discount to guys and girls that are in the military.
Thanks again!
Frank
This is just my opinion of Ethos Lavender soap after having the soap for more than 6 months and using the soap on half dozen occasions. My opinion is based on the razors and blades That I use on a daily bases which are aggressive (GC 84 Jaws, US army Gillette old style with a stork handle, Wolf 1 96 DC, CG L3 DC) using Polsilver and Feather Blades
Ethos: for me is a decent soap but not top tier (Lavender, the soap was filled to the brim-this gets points)), it lathers well, has decent cushion, but for me there is no residual slickness which leaves my skin dry as I continue to buff for this type of soap I enjoy MDC. Leaving my skin dry after the shave is immaterial to me since I use balms etc, the slickness I need on my face is during the shave.
When I lather an area on my face I will continue to take some long strokes and buff when the lather is gone what I have found is the residual slickness of both these 2 soaps are not there for me, I have to lather up again and keep lathering as I buff, there is not the residual slickness that I desire for my shaving style, I do not have this issue with other soaps. I am well aware of MDC lathering characteristics and adapt my shaving style to this soap, and have regulated it a half notch below what I consider a top tier soap. Ethos is in the same category for me. I find the scent pleasing, the cushion good what I would like to see is a better residual shaving slickness after just a few strokes. I believe if I used milder razors my opinion would be different, but I don't.

Strongly suspect there something afoot there as the slickness for me is top shelf. Have you tried distilled water just for experimentation sake? Also have found as am aging, skin stretching accompanied by short strokes a much more effective technique. ETHOS has not abandoned every other element inherent to a great soap in pursuit of slickness as is the latest industry trend; rather ETHOS is balanced amongst the criteria. Curious if your water is a tail dweller.
Irrespective, have found the slickness and cushion sufficient for both straight shaving and extraordinarily large gap razors which are anathema to a person with severely damaged and sensative skin - find it pretty incredible and would not be able to undertake such shaves without severe neck irritation using even the next best soap on the market (Grooming Dept).
There is a best product for every shaving style, methodology, water and skin: for me, no other soap hits the target as impactfully and with alacrity of ETHOS

Very good review bijou, my experience is different as none of my ETHOS soaps have ever left my skin feeling dry, and I use the Wolfman WR1 .94 DC, Paradigm Ti 1 and the CG level 3 DC along with several other aggressive razors, one thing I have learned in my years of wetshaving is no product is perfect for everyone, but for me ETHOS is my number one preferred soap and post shave serum and I have used many of the brands most people would say are top tier.

Straight razor shaver here. Doesn't get any more aggressive. Zero issues ever making multiple passes over the same area. Super-slickness. No complaints.

Result/Commentary: Today’s focus is on the Ethos products. Frank and I had a heck of a time getting this order fullfilled. The good news is (1) I wasn’t in any hurry, since I have sufficient soap supplies; and (2) the delay was largely due to the fact that Frank is so darn busy; his business is going great guns, and that’ great news for everyone because he offers primo products at very competitive prices for the high-end market segment. Plus, I got to have a great conversation with him. He took the time to explain the delay in person, and I found him to be friendly and generous, with long experience, deep expertise and no big ego. He clearly loves what he’s doing and is committed to seriously enhancing the shaving experience of the WS community.
As for today’s shave, I used a new blade, a fairly mild razor, and multiple passes, plus touch up. I did this not because I recommend it, but because my technique is still developing and I wanted to see how the soap and splash would serve someone who likes luxury but isn’t very experienced or expert yet. I was wondering whether a relative newbie could still appreciate and enjoy such high end shaving soap/skin products. The answer is a definite yes. Despite the multiple passes, my touch was light enough, the blade was sharp enough, razor was mild enough and the soap was cushy and slick enough. (In fact the cushion/slick ratio is off-the-charts incredible. Plus, the lather was really plentiful; what you see in the picture was from an almond-sized scoop, with a 26mm bulb, and after three full passes plus touch up). The combination resulted in an incredibly close and smooth shave with no irritation. Moreover, the skin food splash completely addressed any skin disturbance. As a result, my face felt so good the rest of me felt strangely inadequate. Aside from the areas I’d shaved, the rest of me felt like a total slob. The first thing I noticed, emphatically, was that black T-shirt was a total joke! TOTALLY inadequate. This shave deserved “black tie.” Also, I desperately need a decent haircut! Also, and for the first time ever, I found myself mindlessly contemplating whether cosmetic surgery might actually be a good idea. I can see room for improvement now! Quite strange. This soap and splash actually induced a kind of euphoria that put me right into a Monte Carlo mindset. Yet the ETHOS products are definitely very reasonably priced and are within reach of many WS enthusiasts. But, holy crap, I didn’t foresee the attendant “lifestyle” costs. For example, after this shave, I desperately need a yacht! Right frickin’ now! Sheesh! Thanks a lot Frank!!!
P.S., Kidding aside, for a relatively modest outlay, the Ethos products raised my shaving experience to a different level. This stuff is actually that good.
Happy shaves to all....

Thank you for the encouraging words and I’m sorry about the whole yacht thing lol
It was also good talking to you. I like getting to know my customers whenever possible. There’s a lot of good people in the wet shaving community.
Thank you sir!
