I just got some vintage Gillette 'Swedes.' I'm not sure just why I bought them, because I already had plenty of Wilkinson Light Brigades. Oh, well.

I'm not sure why I bought them!  What kind of question is that?  You bought them for the same reason we all buy stuff we don't need, really...well maybe.  Someone needs to do a psychological profile of how and why the need to acquire ever more shaving related items seems almost irresistible.  OK, not almost.  There must be something in our primal, evolutionary past that comes from living in a state of constant shortage - when you find something you grab it and hang on to it.  I think it was the emergence of traditional wet shaving that led to our ancestors ceasing the nomadic lifestyle and settling down into an agrarian lifestyle - they just couldn't carry around all that shaving stuff anymore.  And his wife rolls her eyes.... Confused

Great mail call from Barrister_N_Mann, despite some logistic glitches

These are good for 400 shaves on a safety razor or 200 shaves on a shavette. Not bad for the money l paid.

My latest $7-8 brush purchase arrived this week:

I was really only after the one on the left as it had a, to me, really interesting handle design with the metal part in the middle:

I really should decide on how I want these five restored.....

I just got these Meisner Tremonia soaps yesterday - Lavender Deluxe and Strong N Scottish. The lavender smells strongly of lavender and rose geranium and performs very well - I haven't tried Strong n Scottish yet but it smells unlike anything I've ever smelled in a soap - "plenty of genuine scotch whisky, pure sheep wool fat and peaty-smoky fragrance of burnt oak."
It smells great.
